The scary part about FOMO is…
We people don’t realise they’re trapped in it until they can no longer sit peacefully. ☮️
And before we realise it, stillness starts feeling uncomfortable. Rest feels unproductive. Silence feels unfamiliar.
The pressure to stay involved,stay updated,stay connected,attend everything,reply instantly,keep up with people,plans,trends,success,social circles,work,relationships…
keeps the mind constantly alert.
Over time, the body starts living in stimulation instead of presence.
Psychologically, humans are wired for belonging.The brain naturally seeks inclusion, validation and connection because, for centuries, being excluded meant danger and survival risk.
That same wiring still exists today.
So when people feel left behind, unnoticed, disconnected or “out of the loop,” the nervous system reacts with stress, anxiety, comparison and restlessness.
The modern world only amplifies it:constant notifications,social comparison,busy lifestyles,fear of missing opportunities,fear of becoming irrelevant.
Ways to regulate the nervous system and reduce FOMO-
🧠Spend time in silence without needing distraction
🧠Practice yoga, breathwork or mindful movement daily
🧠Learn to enjoy presence without documenting everything
🧠Reduce comparison and overstimulation
🧠Say no without guilt
🧠Check how much time in a day you spend alone not scrolling, not talking, not listening to music. Nothing to engage just the BEAUTIFUL YOU 💖
🧠Start to find out the connection to what makes you really happy like hobbies, nature, family time 🧑🧑🧒
🧠Spend more time experiencing life than constantly checking it
🧠Give your nervous system moments of slowness, sunlight, nature and real connection
🧠You do not need to be everywhere to live a meaningful life.
Peace also deserves a place in your routine. 🤍
