Somewhere along the way, pelvic floor issues became something moms are expected to tolerate.

Iโ€™m doing a little reset in March.
Nothing extreme. Nothing fancy.

Just:
โ€“ No gluten
โ€“ No dairy
โ€“ No added sugar
โ€“ More whole foods
โ€“ More protein
โ€“ More water
โ€“ More intention

Clinically, I see how much gut health impacts bloating, energy, hormones, pelvic pain, and even mood.
And personally? Iโ€™ve been feeling a little inflamed + tired lately.

This isnโ€™t about shrinking.
Itโ€™s about feeling better in my body.

Hovering can make it harder for the pelvic floor to relax, which may lead to incomplete emptying or feeling like you need to go again soon after.

If you can, sit fully on the toilet, lean forward slightly, and let your breath stay easy.

Small habit shift โ€” big difference for some people.

Leaking can feel embarrassing or frustrating โ€” but itโ€™s more common than most people realize.

And it doesnโ€™t always mean your pelvic floor is โ€œweak.โ€

Sometimes the pelvic floor is overworking, tense, or not coordinating well with breathing and pressure โ€” which is why kegels alone donโ€™t fix it for everyone.

Youโ€™re not doing anything wrong. Support exists ๐Ÿค

This is one of the most common fears I hear โ€” especially during cold and flu season.

Hereโ€™s the reassuring truth:

Being sick and coughing may make your prolapse feel more symptomatic โ€” more pressure, heaviness, or awareness.

But coughing alone does NOT permanently worsen the grade of your prolapse.

Prolapse symptoms often fluctuate based on things like:
โ€ข fatigue
โ€ข illness
โ€ข stress
โ€ข constipation
โ€ข hormonal changes
โ€ข overall load on your system

This doesnโ€™t mean structural damage is happening.

It means your system is under more pressure temporarily.

Once you recover and your body settles, symptoms typically improve again.

This is also why learning pressure management, breathing, and whole-body strength is so important โ€” your pelvic floor is part of a system, not working alone.

If youโ€™re short on time, try adding a little movement into something you already do.

A gentle deep squat can help open the hips and reconnect you to your pelvic floor โ€” especially if you feel stiff, tight, or โ€œstuckโ€ through your pelvis and low back.

Keep it comfortable (your depth doesnโ€™t matter), breathe slowly, and donโ€™t force it.
