🌤️ Outdoor Fun at Cuddle Cove Dayhome ❄️🌱

After many cold and dark winter days, the children were so excited to spend more time playing outside. With some warmer days arriving, the kids enjoyed being outdoors for most of the day. we only came inside for meals and nap time!

Outdoor play gives children so many benefits:
🌿 Fresh air and sunshine
🚗 Gross motor skill development
🏖️ Sensory play with sand, snow, and nature
👫 Social interaction and teamwork
😊 Building independence and confidence

The children enjoyed riding cars, sliding, playing in the sandbox, exploring snow and sand, and using their imagination in outdoor play.

We love seeing how happy and active the children are when they spend time outside. Spring is slowly arriving, and we’re excited for many more outdoor learning adventures at Cuddle Cove Dayhome 💛

Today we created our very own Hair Salon! The children used black yarn as hair and decorated faces using boards. Then the fun began . each child became a little hairstylist!

Some children wanted to:
✂️ Cut hair shorter
🧶 Braid the hair
🎀 Make ponytails
💇‍♀️ Style and create their own unique looks

This activity helped children develop:
✨ Fine motor skills
✨ Hand-eye coordination
✨ Creativity and imagination
✨ Decision-making skills
✨ Social interaction and role-play

Today our little learners worked on finger strength and fine motor skills using colorful cloth clips and cups. This simple activity is perfect for toddlers aged 2–3 years, helping them build important early development skills.

Through this activity, children practiced:

Today we created adorable turtles using green and yellow paper! The children enjoyed gluing, sticking, and adding googly eyes to bring their turtles to life.

This activity helped develop:

Today was full of smiles, laughter, and meaningful learning through play 💚

💛 Our little learners explored a hands-on sensory bin with gold coins, green leaves, and colorful rice — building fine motor skills, focus, and independence while having so much fun!

🎨 We also created beautiful rainbow crafts with soft cotton clouds and sparkling green and gold leaves — encouraging creativity, imagination, and confidence in their work.

🌟 Creative Craft & Breathing Activity at Cuddle Cove Dayhome 🐦

Today our little learners had so much fun making their own “Birdy” craft!

We used hand gloves, colorful paper feathers, eyes, and beaks to create a cute bird. The bird was attached to a paper cup with a straw.

When the children blow through the straw, the glove fills with air and the bird wakes up and spreads its feathers. When they stop and take a deep breath, the bird goes back to sleep. 🐦💨

The kids were so excited to see their bird move!

This activity helps support:

✨ Fine motor skill development
✨ Breathing control
✨ Cause-and-effect learning
✨ Imagination and play

It was wonderful to see their big smiles and excitement when their bird popped up!

Today the children enjoyed a fun shape identification activity!

I prepared different colorful shapes in various sizes, and the children used them to create their own pictures such as houses and cars. They carefully glued the shapes onto paper and explored how different shapes can come together to make something new.

This activity helped the children learn and practice the names of shapes while also encouraging creativity.

Activities like this support children’s development in many ways:
🔺 Learning basic shape recognition
🎨 Encouraging creativity and imagination
🖐️ Developing fine motor skills
🧠 Building problem-solving skills

🎨🌈 Color Matching & Fine Motor Fun at Cuddle Cove Dayhome

The children enjoyed a fun color matching sensory activity!

I placed colorful elastic bands in water and provided matching colored cups and small sticks. The children used the sticks to carefully pick up one elastic band at a time and place it into the correct matching color cup.

I originally prepared this activity for my under 3-year-old children to help them learn colors and practice holding and controlling a stick. But my over 3-year-old kids loved the activity too and happily joined in!

This simple activity helps children develop:
🖐️ Fine motor skills
🎨 Color recognition
👀 Hand-eye coordination
🧠 Focus and problem-solving

Learning through play makes every activity exciting and meaningful for the children.
