Not All Red Eyes Are the Same!

Many people think that once the eye is red, it’s just “ordinary infection” — and they start using random eye drops or home remedies.
This is dangerous.

Red eyes can be caused by many different conditions, and each one requires different treatment.

Common Causes of Red Eyes
Allergy – itching, tearing, both eyes usually affected
Infection (conjunctivitis) – discharge, sticky eyes
Dry eyes – burning, discomfort, worse with screen use
Corneal problems – pain, light sensitivity, blurred vision
Glaucoma (emergency) – severe pain, headache, reduced vision
Subconjunctival hemorrhage – bright red patch, usually painless

The Problem With Self-Medication
Using the wrong treatment can:
Worsen the condition
Delay proper diagnosis
Lead to complications
Even cause permanent vision loss
Not all eye drops are safe for every red eye.

What You Should Do
If your eyes are red:

Do NOT assume
Do NOT use random eye drops
Do NOT try home remedies
See an eye care professional for proper diagnosis and treatment

Your eyes are too important to guess.
The right treatment starts with the right diagnosis.
Please share this — someone might need this information today.

Protect Your Eyes from the Sun

Most people remember sunscreen…
But forget their eyes.

The sun doesn’t just affect your skin—
UV rays can slowly damage your eyes over time...
What too much sun exposure can cause
-Cataracts (cloudy vision)
- Macular degeneration
- Dry, irritated eyes
- Growths on the eye surface

Simple ways to protect your eyes
1. Wear sunglasses with 100% UV protection
2. Use a wide-brim hat outdoors
3. Avoid peak sun hours (10am–4pm)
4. Never look directly at the sun

Parents—this is important
Children’s eyes are more sensitive to UV rays

Make sunglasses part of their daily routine
Protect their vision early

You protect your skin every day…
Protect your eyes too.
Do you wear sunglasses regularly or only when it’s very sunny?
Share this reminder with someone who spends a lot of time outdoors

Things Patients Wish They Knew Earlier About Their Eyes

As an eye care professional, I hear this all the time:
“I wish I knew this earlier…”
Here are some important things many people learn too late

1. You can see well and still have an eye problem
Some conditions (like glaucoma) start silently—no pain, no warning.

2. Rubbing your eyes is not harmless
It can worsen irritation, spread infection, and even damage your eyes over time.

3. Not all eye drops are safe
Self-medication can make things worse or delay proper treatment.

4. Screen time is affecting your eyes
Dryness, headaches, and blurry vision are becoming more common—especially in kids.

5. Small symptoms can be serious
Don’t ignore:
Flashes of light
Sudden floaters
Eye pain
Sudden vision changes
These can be emergencies.

6. Regular eye exams matter more than you think
Many eye conditions are easier to manage when detected early.

Your eyes don’t always give loud warnings…
Take care of them before problems start.

What’s something you wish you knew earlier about your eyes?
Share this with someone—it could help protect their vision

Hello, senior content creators and accomplished content creators. People like Onomen Audu , Deborah Gbenga-Jegede and so on.

Quick one. I started this page and a tiktok page almost at the same period (5 months ago). I post the same video both here and on the tiktok page. Interestingly, I have over 1000 followers on tiktok, but just over 100 followers on facebook for now. Can anybody tell me the possible reasons why my facebook growth is slow?

NB: I started tiktok from scratch with nothing like friends or anything like that. I started tiktok for the first time 5 months ago. On facebook, I have thousands of friends. I have been on facebook for almost 2 decades and yet my page is crawling.

Please, I need insights.
