It finally feels like spring!
Get your kids outside today! It’s good for their moods, their sleep and their eyes!
Outdoor playtime has been shown in numerous studies to prevent myopia, also known as nearsightedness or needing glasses to see far away. 90-120 minutes of outdoor time had the biggest associated decrease in myopia.
Preventing myopia and myopia progression doesn’t just mean not needing glasses. Myopia is associated with eye health problems like retinal detachments, myopic macular degeneration, glaucoma and early cataracts.
So go fly a kite, ride a bike, check out a new playground or roll down a hill! Just don’t forget their sunnies!
