I am a certified Yoga/Prenatal Yoga teacher and a Registered Nurse with over 35 years experience in "Labour and Delivery".

With a passion for "labour support" and a true love for Yoga, teaching Prenatal Yoga is the best of both worlds! I offer classes that are lighthearted, informative and fun and will help support you, both physically and mentally, in your journey into motherhood.

I so appreciate each and every one of you who take the time to write a review and share your experience at our little studio. Google reviews really help expectant and new mamas find our classes and I feel so blessed that I get to keep sharing my passion for not only Yoga, but also all things pregnancy, birth and motherhood related. I look forward to each and every class I teach and it warms my heart you keep showing up! (or maybe it’s because of the tea and chocolate, haha!)

Our next Breastfeeding Education Session is coming up on April 14th!

Join in with other expectant moms to feel more prepared for your upcoming breastfeeding journey! In a relaxed atmosphere in our cozy studio, while we sip tea and eat banana bread 😃, you will learn tips for latching your baby, what to expect in those first few days, how to tell if your baby is getting enough, learn all about antenatal hand expression and so much more! Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to ask all your questions to a certified lactation consultant, who has over 35 years of experience in providing breastfeeding support (me!😜)
Fee includes antenatal hand expression supplies (and a little baby gift :))

48 years ago today, January 3rd 1978, we immigrated to Canada. It was my very first time on an airplane. I took this picture as we approached the Calgary airport. When we landed it was -32C. I remember what it felt like when I took my first breath stepping outside the airport terminal; like the air froze and got ‘stuck” inside my throat. I had never, ever seen that much snow…
People were very nice but it all felt so different. My 12 year old sister was refused entry into the lounge as our family waited for a table at a restaurant. Our dog wasn’t allowed to come into the stores when we went shopping for winter attire. People took their shoes off when they entered a home. The cashier at Safeway asked “how are you today” and I contemplated if she really did want to know because I had never met her before. It apparently wasn’t customary to kiss on the cheek three times when greeting someone new (wish someone had told me 😜)
When our furniture finally arrived from across the country, our couch was frozen solid for days. I missed my friends and older brother back home and I remember going to buy a house plant for some company. International phone calls cost over $8/minute, at least that’s what my parents told me. They kept saying I could go back to the Netherlands to pursue my dream of becoming a midwife in just 6 short months, as soon as I would turn 18. But then they bought me a horse and I stayed. Still here. And life is good.

A moment of reflection as the year is close to winding down. Our little home studio has held so much this year; classes, workshops, growing bellies, tiny babies and countless unrolled mats. I am so grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you for trusting me, showing up and supporting what I love so SO much 🙏🏻🧡

….. and teach you all about contractions, effacement and dilation!

So grateful to be part of such a passionate, experienced team at HelloBaby - every one of us is a registered nurse with many(!) years of hands-on experience 🧡

I just finished teaching a 5 week Birth Education session and it was SO much fun, I was sad to have it end! My next 5 week session will start on January 8th but no matter when you schedule your birth education session with , you’ll be in the best of hands! Weekend courses are also available, check out the schedule on their website 🧡

To all the lovely expectant couples I got to know over the last five weeks, wishing you a beautiful birth experience in which you feel strong, safe and supported as you transition into parenthood. I’ll be thinking of you, much love your way!

November Mom and Baby classes are in full swing with 18 mom/baby pairs attending! Our session that is on the schedule for December has just 3 spots left! Classes will be held on Mondays (no Thursday session in December) from 11am-12pm with a special Holiday celebration on December 22nd🌲
January and February sessions are also now open for registration - I would love to see you and your little one!

Connecting with your Breath, your baby AND your Community, this is what these classes are all about!
Add a little cute chaos at times, maybe a diaper change or two and a breast or bottle feed, but still leave a little more grounded and relaxed. Bringing new moms together is the main goal of the classes. Motherhood is really hard work and you are not alone 🧡
