We had a wonderful time hosting local high school students at yesterday’s Immunology Career Day event!

Organized by our trainee committee, the event featured inspiring talks from Drs. Markus Geuking, Nargis Khan and Craig Jenne.

A special thank you to our trainee panelists — Anne Lu, Sophie Wu, Priya Raj, and Ryland Gujilde — for sharing their experiences and answering thoughtful questions about aspiring for careers in immunology.

We’re also incredibly grateful to our organizers, Liam Wilkinson and Anika Arora, whose hard work made this event such a success.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped inspire the next generation of scientists!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the screening of Silent Pandemic and stayed for the engaging discussion with experts Dr. Herman Barkema and Dr. Elissa Rennert-May. Together, we explored the urgent global challenge of antibiotic resistance and the real impact it has on modern medicine — from routine procedures to life-saving treatments.

We’re grateful to partner with the University of Calgary's Cu***ng School of Medicine and Calgary Public Library for this impactful event. Special thanks to Liam Wilkinson for moderating this event.

Join in at Central Library on April 28 at 5:30 pm, for a film screening of “Silent Pandemic.”

In the film, antibiotic resistance is outpacing new treatments, meaning some infections may soon be untreatable — impacting everything from surgery to cancer care. “Silent Pandemic” explores this growing global health issue, followed by UCalgary experts discussing solutions.
