What is Pelvic Health Physiotherapy?

Pelvic health physiotherapy is a specialized physiotherapy treatment for urinary or anal/fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, lumbopelvic pain, painful in*******se (dyspareunia) and perinatal conditions. Treatment is customized to each patient and often integrates pelvic floor muscle re-training, helpful advice on bowel and bladder habits, nutrition and hands-on techniques from the therapist. -Have difficulty initiating urination

-Have feeling of pressure or heaviness in their pelvic region

-Have pain with sexual in*******se or difficulty with pe*******on
-Have pelvic pain (vaginal, re**al or perineal)
-Have pelvic girdle, buttock, low back or coccyx pain

WHAT IS A TYPICAL TREATMENT? On your first visit the therapist will provide a detailed consultation discussing your condition and symptoms followed by an assessment of external and possibly internal pelvic structures. This will provide information relating to the pelvic floor muscles, nerves and other structures in the area. From this information an individualized plan is made. TREATMENT FOCUS
Creating a strong pelvic floor (the sling of muscles and ligaments that support your pelvic organs) can prevent or minimize leakage and help to control strong urges. It can promote the strength, flexibility and balance of muscles involved in delivery. After delivery, pelvic floor physiotherapy helps to restore a strong core for both vaginal or caesarean delivery

I absolutely loved teaching this Prenatal Education & Movement Class 🤍

There is something so powerful about gathering together to prepare for birth in a way that feels informed, embodied, and supportive

In this class, we move, we learn, we practice — and most importantly, we build confidence.
We covered everything from reducing common pregnancy discomforts, to supporting the pelvic floor and core, to labour positions and pain management tools. We talked about early postpartum recovery and how to truly prepare your body (and nervous system) for birth.

As a pelvic health physiotherapist, it’s such an honour to guide expecting parents through evidence-based education and gentle movement that they can use immediately. My goal is always the same: ✨ Help you feel strong. ✨ Help you feel informed. ✨ Help you feel supported.

Birth preparation isn’t just about information — it’s about connection to your body and trusting its ability to do this.
So grateful for everyone who joined me. I can’t wait for the next one 🤍

IGNITE ✨ | Step One in Neuroplastic Healing

Before we regulate.
Before we retrain.
Before we do anything…

We ignite.

Neuroplastic healing starts with belief — not surface-level “positive thinking,” but a deep, embodied knowing that your body can and will heal.

This belief is what tells your nervous system:
I am safe enough to change.

Without it, many people stay stuck in a loop of constant regulation—always calming, soothing, managing—without true healing. Because the brain won’t rewire if it doesn’t believe safety and repair are possible.

Igniting your inner healer looks different for everyone, but some powerful entry points include:

✨ Listening to the Heal podcast
✨ Connecting to your spirituality (however that feels true for you)
✨ Learning the science of neuroplasticity
✨ Exploring Joe Dispenza’s work
✨ Daily affirmations (Ribeye Rachel has beautiful resources)

This isn’t about forcing positivity.
It’s about finding the belief that allows your system to finally exhale.

Trust your body.
Listen to it.
Deeply know: you are not broken.

Your body has always known how to heal.
Your job is to believe it again.

🔥 IGNITE.
Your inner healer is already there.

My hope is that by opening up about how I’m using neuroplasticity, movement, and a deep mind-body approach to support my healing, I can help others who, like me, have collected a long list of diagnoses and still felt like something deeper was being missed.

Over the last 6 years in my practice, I started to see a pattern:
Anxiety or PTSD.
Chronic stress.
Then the body starts speaking—IBS, joint hypermobility, chronic pain, muscle and fascial tension, fibromyalgia, jaw clenching, POTS, ME/CFS, autoimmune issues…

Even before my own body began to show symptoms, I saw how mental and emotional stress so often walked hand-in-hand with physical conditions. That led me to dive deep into the nervous system, neuroplasticity, somatics, and the profound mind-body connection.

Instead of hiding behind the scenes while I work on healing, I’ll be sharing the process with you—what I’m doing, why I’m doing it, and how it’s affecting me along the way.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, dismissed, or lost in your own healing journey, I hope this space reminds you: you are not alone, and your body is not broken.”
