1975-2025. 50 YEARS OF TEACHING!
THE GREATEST AWARD....
I woke up this morning smiling to myself because I realised I've been a teacher for half a century! Amazing!

Yesterday, I received a touching message from a member of my Bali Clay Therapy group. The words, "For me, you are a teacher who carries the softness of God's heart," were written to me just after I had shared a photograph entitled "Leaves of Peace." In this image, each leaf represented a member of our group, symbolising our collective journey and shared experiences.

This heartfelt phrase stands out as the loveliest and most meaningful recognition I have ever received. It resonated deeply with me, for it spoke of gentleness and kindness - qualities I strive to embody in my approach to teaching and connection with others.

This acknowledgement reinforces my belief that such an approach is not only valuable but also something others can learn and benefit from.

CLAY THERAPY TRAINING PART 2 just ended today. Fabulous group with participants travelling from afar to meet in person as they fully immersed themselves in learning the craft of this deep form of psychotherspy.
It is such a privilege to do this work, I love it!

AWAY DAY WITH CLAY, Cambridgeshire - WOW!

And what a great day it was too!

Members and friends of the Clay Therapy & Clay Conversations Community gathered yesterday to reflect with Clay, eat cake and support each other in these hards times when we are hearing of therapists' redundancies and funding withdrawals whilst still being expected to work miracles!

YET, WE STILL LOVE OUR WORK!

Wr talked loads and laughed lots and promised to do something similar again towards the end of the year - come and join us!

Had a terrific day at the PTUK Conferrnce yesterday hearing Lisa Dion giving the keynote speech.

This year, in my Clay Therapy workshop presented in the afternoon, I needed a fair bit of practical help due to a very recen operation. Huge thanks go to Gwenda Hodges, a great colleague, pictured on the left here for all her help and support plus the amazing Conferrnce team who showered us with support.👍👍

Workshop participants, thank you, you were a joy to work alongside asking all your astute questions and being so willing to create with clay on a very hot afternoon!

WITH AGGRESSION THROUGH CLAY,
PTUK CONFERENCE, JUNE 21ST

So looking forward to presenting my workshop at the PTUK Conference this coming Saturday.

As a malleable medium clay works wonders for youngsters and adults alike who struggle with strong and troubling emotions.

See you there!

Our 'CLOSING CLAY FIRES' represented our inner passion for working closely with Mother Earth - the root of all.

Last weekend brought a group of very special people together to complete the Specialist Clay Therapy & Clay Conversations Supervision training. We left deeply connected to each other and our work as our passions had been rekindled.

It didn't feel appropriate to post this message last weekend for we each needed time to go home and savour our experiences.

GLOBAL EARTH DAY 2025
I always think back to writing the manuscript for my first book on each Earth Day.

Touching Clay, Touching What? ' my own copy is looking pretty well used these days! In the first few pages I refer to the idea that early humans were made of clay with this notion predating scientific thought.

Psychologically the primal self is linked closely with the 'prima materia', Earth, the root of all. The clods of clay we shape, also shapes us; such is the close connection between humans and Earth.

Harm ourselves and we harm the Earth! Look after ourselves and others and we look after the Earth.

"An apple a day keeps thr doctor away," was my Gran's favourite saying, but I never once saw her eat one and she lived to a ripe old age!

Recently as i worked a lump of clay i noticed an 'apple type' shape emerge and it set my mind thinking about needing to eat more fruit and veg and less of the chocolate and cakes that I love!! Oh don't you just love a slice of chocolate cake or something similar?

On the other hand, I wondered too about the little creature my hands had shaped as well deciding that it could live in the apple! Clearly I was just playing with ideas which meant I simply escaped from real life for a few minutes?

We all need to daydream from time to time ... how do you switch off from the screens surrounding us and the hectic pace of life we all promised we wouldn't return to after Covid? Ah, thank goodness for a clod of clay!

SUPERVISORS' CLAY THERAPY GROUP
The theme 'strength for out journey in our work at present' arose this morning.

Gripping and grappling with a clod of clay a stag's head appeared - note the battered antlers!

As the planets aligned during the past few days, let's hope the strength emanating from such a creature can support and steer us in a stormy world!

Here's what my research offered on what lies behind the saying 'The Stag's Strength':

THE STAG'S STRENGTH, a mytho-medieval European sword forged in honour of home, hearth, hope, respect for the wild and peace with all mankind.

My trusted colleagues spoke of the other side of the Stag's head revealing two battling hares! What more can I say?

My goodness CLAY SPEAKS!
