According to a recent study, forward head position and blood flow to the brain are clinically observable by taking the carotid pulses and can lead to debilitating symptoms within the brain.

The carotid pulses are weaker when the head is in a forward position; however, the carotid pulses are stronger when the head is over the spine.

When the head is forward over the spine, the brain may not receive sufficient blood flow and oxygen due to compression of the carotid arteries. If this compression is severe enough, it can result in cerebral ischemia (CNS dysfunction). Clinically, we see disturbed sleeping patterns, increased anxiety, and mental N sluggishness.

The March 2000 Mayo Clinic reported that prolonged FHP also leads to myospasm, disc herniations, arthritis, and pinched nerves.

Dr. Alf Breig, a Swedish neurosurgeon and Nobel Prize recipient, describes how the loss of a normal cervical lordotic curve creates dysfunction and disease.

Through cadaver studies, Dr. Breig demonstrated that neck flexion could stretch the spinal cord 5-7 cm causing tensioning of the meninges (covering of the brain and spinal cord) and elicit measurable pressure on brainstem nuclei (nerve control centers) which control all basic life functions. (Breig, Alf.
Adverse Mechanical Tension in the Central Nervous System: An Analysis of Cause and Effect. 1978. Almqvuist & Wiksell
International, Stockholm, Sweden. Pg. 177.)

New studies show that correction of cervical lordosis may be associated with an immediate increase in cerebral blood flow.

The land on which Studio at 20 Park Hill Road East in Cambridge, Ontario stands is part of the Haldimand Tract—lands promised to the Six Nations of the Grand River. This territory is also the traditional land of the Anishinaabe (Anishinaabeg), Haudenosaunee, and Chonnonton peoples.

We honour their enduring connection to these lands, waters, and communities. May we move forward in gratitude, learning, and respect.

This Thanksgiving, I’m reflecting with deep gratitude and a desire to grow—both in heart and practice.

🍁 I’m supremely thankful for the nurturing energy of community, creativity, and care that fills our studio walls.

But gratitude isn’t just a word—it’s an invitation. So today, I’m also letting this Thanksgiving be a moment of reckoning:

Honouring the traditional stewards of this land—Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Chonnonton peoples—and pledging to listen, learn, and act with respect and presence.

Choosing to celebrate with intention and awareness, weaving inclusion and historical truth into what feel like ordinary moments: meals, gatherings, shared stories.

May our voices be full of gratitude—and our actions full of humility. Here’s to light, learning, and living with kind curiosity.

Warm wishes for a meaningful Thanksgiving. 🧡

Hello dear community ☀️🕊️

I'm excited to share a new chapter in my healing practice! 🙏🏽

I'm inviting 10 individuals to receive a complimentary 90-minute Thai Yoga Massage session as I complete my certification. 🤲🏼

Imagine being gently stretched, compressed, and rocked into a state of deep relaxation. Performed fully clothed on a comfortable mat, this ancient practice is a therapeutic dance that works with the body's energy to release tension and restore calm. ✨️
