Welcome Joanna to the team! ☀️
My name is Joanna Brubacher and I have always loved connecting with people. I grew up in a close-knit community, that focused on peacemaking. As I have lived life, I came to know different ways of moving through distress and conflict. I found this fascinating, and I grew to understand how different family systems impact one another. I became interested in supporting people through conflict and healing after having the experience of moving through conflict in my own life and doing my own healing. I spent 15 years working in community, and supporting people with diverse support needs, with differing abilities.
Through life experience, I felt the impact of mental health, the stigma attached to it in society and I began to feel the negative impact of being separated from nature. I have spent the last decade learning more about how to support one another holistically and have learned how to listen in a new way through mediation, sitting in circle and therapy. Therapy has helped me understand my emotions and how to move out of unhealthy relational patterns. Therapy has helped me process traumas, when I didn’t realize the weight of their impact. It has supported me through difficult conflicts and helped me be a better parent, partner, employee, friend, sibling and daughter. As a q***r parent that has moved through a divorce, I am excited to work with couples in conflict that want support in finding a healthy path forward together or support in separating. In experiencing co-parenting and supporting adults in conflict coaching, I am eager to help people make plans that will support children well. I have experience and welcome in people who have non-conventional relationships, the LGBTQ2+ community as well as people who identify as neurodiverse or are on the autism spectrum.
