We are excited to welcome Katelyn to the Everbloom team!
With a deep appreciation for the outdoors and a strong commitment to supporting children of all abilities, Katelyn brings both passion and experience to our community. She is a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), has years of experience in summer camp leadership and is a mom of two. This gives her a strong foundation in child development, outdoor learning and family connection.
Katelyn is looking forward to joining Everbloom Outdoor Therapy as an Administrative Assistant and getting to know all of the current & future families in our community🍃☀️

While the warmer weather has us planning for all the sunny & muddy activities, we want to thank the winter for giving us so many outdoor play experiences ❄️

Some activities we loved doing this past winter season include:
🪏fort building
⛷️exploring the snow on skis
🍁making maple syrup taffy
☀️sunny & brisk walks
🍨homemade ice cream
🛷sledding adventures

Taking it slow, focusing on simple activities or just even going for a walk (or sled ride) can be crucial for emotional and physical health during the colder months. Play doesn’t have to be complicated; playing, in all capacities and for kids with all abilities, is productive 🫶🏻

Exploring snow, ice & slush is just as benefical as playing in sand, water & grass. Different textures and components of our natural environment opens a world of sensory & physical investigation ☃️

What winter activity do you want to remember about this past season?!

We are excited to share a new program that will be launching this spring, in collaboration with !

“Farm Friends” is a 8-week outdoor program supported by both an Occuptional Therapist and a Behavioural Analyst for children with autism. This program will give the children an opportunity to participate in a positive and impactful social environment, connecting them with other children as well as focusing on their individual needs and interests 💚

Registration for this program is now open, please visit our website for more information!

We’ve been keeping a pretty big secret that we’re so excited to share next week! Any guesses as to what this might be? 🤭

There’s a reason many people feel calm in natural environments…

Nature tends to offer non-demanding sensory input. The sounds are steady instead of abrupt. The visuals are expansive instead of cluttered. There are fewer social rules, and often, fewer expectations.

Snow, in particular, has the capacity to soften sound, simplify the visual field, and slows everything down (including movement) 🌨️☃️

You’re not moving to follow a rigid sensory diet or exercise routine, you’re moving because you’re exploring, which is often more enjoyable, more accessible, and more purposeful for many of us.
