She’s back! Join us welcoming Mary Riddell back to Cambridge Midwives ☺️

Here’s a little about Mary:
“I come from a large family of eight children, many of whom were born with the support of midwives. My mother, who has always held a deep appreciation for this work, was the first to spark my interest in midwifery. I was drawn to midwifery because it is a healthcare profession grounded in informed choice, bodily autonomy, and evidence-based care. My educational journey began at Western University, where I studied Social Justice and Peace Studies before going on to graduate from the McMaster Midwifery Education Program.

My favourite part of being a midwife is the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a family’s journey and to help create a positive, empowering start to parenthood. I believe that compassionate, supportive care during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period can have a lasting impact on families as they grow together. It is both an honour and a privilege to work alongside the families we serve”

Join us in welcoming Rachel Bolger, RM to our team!

“Hello! My name is Rachel Bolger and I am so thrilled to be joining the team at Cambridge Midwives. I was born and raised in Ayr Ontario just 15 minutes west of Cambridge.
It has always been a dream of my to live and work within this amazing community I call home. I grew up as a big sister with a passion for looking after others and being a ‘’mini mom’’ from a young age. I was drawn to midwifery for many reasons but one of my favourites is the continuity of care and getting to provide support during one of life’s most vulnerable and precious moments. When I am not practicing midwifery you can find me taking long walks with my dog, spending time with my family and travelling with my husband. I look forward to meeting you!”

Today we celebrate the many ways people mother; through pregnancy, birth, parenting, loving, grieving, hoping, and holding space for others💛

To the mothers in our community, the mothers-to-be, those longing to become mothers, those navigating infertility or loss, those carrying babies in their arms and in their hearts, and those finding today difficult for any reason- we’re thinking of you too ❤️

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Cambridge Midwives 🌷

New student alert! Join us in welcoming Rachel Barone 💚

“My name is Rachel Barone (she/her) and I am a
fourth year midwifery student from the
McMaster midwifery program. I have had the
privilege of working in many different places
such as Hamilton, Burlington, Milton, and the
greater Halton region. I came to midwifery from
a passion for women’s healthcare, reproductive
justice, and preventative healthcare through
education. Outside of midwifery I am a movie
buff and an avid reader. I look forward to
meeting you and being a part of your care!”

Happy International Day of the Midwife! This year’s theme, One Million More Midwives, highlights the need to strengthen and grow our profession around the world.

Here in Ontario, ongoing conversations about attrition, retention, and fair compensation show how important it is to support and sustain midwives in this work. If midwifery care has mattered to you or your family, consider reaching out to your MPP to share your support.

We are so grateful for the trust our clients place in us and for the opportunity to be part of such meaningful moments in their lives. If you are feeling grateful too, share some love for your team in the comments ❤️❤️
