At LiftWerx, we hire a lot of student interns, mostly in engineering, technician, software, or millwright-related discliplines. We've hired students from universities and colleges across North America, and with our headcount rising, we're hiring more interns than ever before.
After working for several months at LiftWerx, this handsome group of university students just wrapped up their internships, and they've headed back to school to continue their studies in engineering and computer science. Hopefully many of them will return to LiftWerx, to develop more experience in the wind energy industry, and perhaps some of them might consider full-time careers at LiftWerx after graduation.
But let's get one thing straight: we don't hire students to do all of the crappy jobs that no-one else likes to do. We rely on interns for key roles in the company: wind turbine technician roles, design engineering, operational engineering, and software development. These are value-added positions, and without these interns, our talent pool would be much shallower.
Most importantly, we trust our interns with high-value work, and we invest in them. We provide them with the best clothing gear, we provide them with expensive safety training, and we fly them to project sites around North America.
Some students only work for LiftWerx for as few as four months. Why, you might ask, do we make such large investments in these "temporary" roles? It's because we believe in investing in people, and we believe in recruiting for the long term. Many of our best employees started as young student interns. Many of us who entered the industry as interns were mentored by wise, patient, and experienced people. And today, by returning the favour, it's the least we can do to invest in our youth, and in our future.
