The hip joint’s central role as a pivot point influences the function and health of the lower limbs and the stability of the lower back and core. Maintaining hip joint health through appropriate movement, strength, and flexibility is essential for overall musculoskeletal well-being.

Hip replacement surgery is considered a last resort when other treatments fail to alleviate pain and restore function. Engaging in physiotherapy can significantly reduce the need for surgery. A physiotherapist can tailor a program to strengthen muscles around the hip, improve flexibility, and enhance joint mobility.

By addressing hip issues early with physiotherapy, patients can enjoy a better quality of life, delaying or even avoiding the need for surgical intervention. With regular sessions, the benefits compound, helping individuals maintain an active and pain-free lifestyle.

𝗟𝗼𝘄 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻 - 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝟮

Intramuscular stimulation (IMS) is a therapeutic technique used to treat chronic musculoskeletal pain, particularly effective for lower back pain. Developed by Dr. Chan Gunn, IMS involves inserting fine needles into trigger points within the muscles, aiming to release tightness and alleviate pain. Unlike acupuncture, which focuses on energy flow, IMS targets muscle knots and shortened muscles that cause pain and dysfunction.
IMS offers several benefits for lower back pain sufferers:

Pain Relief: By stimulating affected muscles, IMS helps reduce pain and discomfort. The needles cause a minor injury that prompts the body to repair muscle tissue, improving pain thresholds and reducing sensitivity.

Improved Mobility: Tight, shortened muscles can restrict movement and contribute to stiffness. IMS relaxes these muscles, enhancing flexibility and range of motion.

Enhanced Blood Flow: The needle insertion increases local blood flow, promoting healing by delivering more oxygen and nutrients to the affected area.

Neuromuscular Rebalancing: IMS addresses muscle imbalances by targeting overactive muscles and encouraging relaxation. This rebalancing can alleviate pressure on nerves and reduce referred pain.

Long-term Relief: Regular IMS sessions can lead to sustained improvements in muscle function and pain levels, providing long-term relief and reducing reliance on pain medication.

Overall, IMS is a minimally invasive, effective option for managing lower back pain, promoting both immediate and long-term benefits through targeted muscle therapy.

Do you suffer from back pain? We offer one-on-one treatment with the therapist and use a variety of treatments including IMS.
