We’re beyond proud to see Dr. Mandana Goodarzi recognized with the Dr. Bob Henderson Award for Physician Leadership. She’s not only one of our favourites—she’s truly one of a kind. Her quiet strength, compassionate leadership, and unwavering commitment to patients, learners, and colleagues make her an inspiration to us all. Congratulations, Dr. Goodarzi—you embody everything this award stands for!

Last week at our AGM, we were proud to present the Dr. Bob Henderson Award for Physician Leadership to Dr. Mandana Goodarzi, one of our exceptional Hospitalists on the Inpatient Unit. This award was created to honour the legacy of Dr. Henderson and recognize a physician who demonstrates outstanding leadership, mentorship, and lives our hospital’s core values, just as Dr. Henderson did.

Dr. Goodarzi is a steady, compassionate presence on the Inpatient Unit. She leads inclusive daily rounds, supports learners at all levels, and advocates for her colleagues with professionalism and care. She’s collaborative, accountable, always learning, and constantly thinking about how we can improve care and patient outcomes. Congratulations, Dr. Goodarzi, and thank you for everything you do.

We took you on a little journey to a charming rural gem called Trent Hills—a place where the pace is peaceful, the people are friendly, and every corner holds a strong sense of community.

Here, you didn’t just observe healthcare—you lived it. You became a part of our dedicated healthcare teams, learned from passionate and experienced professionals, and connected with patients in ways that were both meaningful and impactful.

A heartfelt thank you to our many preceptors and incredible community partners who helped make this unforgettable experience possible. Your generosity and commitment to teaching the next generation of physicians are what make rural healthcare thrive.

Last week, we bid farewell to three phenomenal 2nd-year medical students from the Queen’s-Lakeridge Family Medicine Program. Their time with us in Trent Hills was invaluable, helping build lasting relationships with future physicians and strengthening our medical community.

Today, we are thrilled to welcome three bright 1st-year students from the same program, who will be joining us throughout the month of May!

We are proud to note that for many of these students, this isn’t their first experience here-a true testament to the welcoming and supportive environment we offer!

Busy recruitment season in full swing!

This past Friday, we had an amazing time in Ottawa, connecting with family medicine residents and sharing all the incredible practice opportunities here in Trent Hills. 🎉 Family doctor recruitment is often a long game, but seeing the excitement in future doctors who could be joining our community in 2-3 years is always worth it! We're here to support them every step of the way to help build a fulfilling, comprehensive practice right here at home.
