Today I worked on a couple of new cape coat styles. This style is longer than most of my styles and tailored to suit the length. Be the first to try this style on Thursday August 3rd 2023 at the Womens Auxiliary craft event at The Picton Fairgrounds. You will find me in the community center (arena). I hope you will join From the Homestead and all the other vendors, this Thursday at the Fairgrounds in Picton for this wonderful craft event. You will find me in the community center (arena). Show is 9 am - 7 pm. From the Homestead will have Handmade capes, coats, quilts, plush toys, macramé, purses, embroidered towels-aprons-hats, fleece hats and mitts,and so much more, all created from the heart of my Homestead right here in Prince Edward County. I had a customer ask for a Yip Yips planter at a popup recently and to tell you the truth I didnt even know what a Yip Yip was. A fellow vendor helped me out with a picture and soon my memories returned. Most people have seen these on Sesame street and never gave them a second thought. So here is my version of a Yip Yip.

Did you know that "F***y packs" became popular back in the 80's. Best hands free purses ever. My kids laughed at me years later whenever I pulled mine out and used it. 40 some odd years later; it's back and more popular than ever. Of course young ones now call them satchels or banana packs or weekenders and argue when we correct them. They can call them whatever they want, they are still f***y packs to me. If lululemon can bring them back then I guess it's ok. This week I created a couple; along with some other items in anticipation of some new upcoming shows. I hope you will join me and other vendors at the Womens Auxilliary Craft event August 3rd at the Picton fairgrounds; at The Quinte West Popups August 23rd-September3rd in Centennial Park Trenton Ontario and at my From the Homestead homestead November 3,4,5,10,11,12 for The A Country Christmas Gathering . Just doing a little inventory check on some of the new capes and coats I have been working on lately. I hope you will hit the road with me this summer and join me at The Picton Womens Auxilliary show on August 3rd and at the Quinte West Pop-ups August 23rd-September 3rd. Then it's back home November 3,4,5,10,11,12 for the A Country Christmas Gathering tour at my (From the Homestead ) homestead. In between I will be creating up a storm.

Heather at From the Homestead will be busy over the summer transforming her shed into a rustic retail shop for the tour. She is no longer located at the Campbellford flea market, but will have her shop open on Victoria Rd., Carrying Place.

The ground is dry here on the Homestead (From the Homestead ); and we haven't seen a drop of rain for over 2 weeks. So far the garden well has kept up with the daily watering; but the house well may need some help from mother nature or a truck load of water for the cistern. The days are warm but luckily my workroom is air conditioned; so here I sit comfortably creating. My shop is cleaned and racks and shelves are being created now in anticipation of the A Country Christmas Gathering tour November 3,4,5,10,11,12. For now I am prepping for other events throughout the summer months. Come the fall you will see some major changes on the Homestead and the shop will be transformed into a rustic country store. So stay tuned and hopefully you will visit me at The Picton Womans Auxilliary Craft event at the fairgrounds August 3rd and at The Quinte West Popups August 23rd to September 3rd and then on my Homestead in November for the tour. Or if you see something you like posted on my page message me.

August 3rd Picton Womens Auxilliary Craft event. This is a large event encompassing many buildings and outdoor areas. So bring your cash, your friends; your walking shoes, scooter or Walker and join us.

Quinte West Pop-ups August 23- September 3rd. Popups are open Wednesday - Sunday 11 am - 7 pm.

What a great week holiday I had with my husband. We are not idle people we always have to be busy. Though we took some time to wander and take in the sites; we found a home for some of the things taking up space in the shed and completed some great displays for my shop in prep for the A Country Christmas Gathering tour in November. Yesterday after a week sitting idle my embroidery machine spoke to me and said it's time to create lol. It's back to creating tomorrow stay tuned for pics. It's time to complete a few new projects for The Picton Women's Institute Craft event August 3rd in Picton

So excited to be part of the A Country Christmas Gathering tour again this year, but even more excited to be inviting participants to my homestead in Prince Edward County. I will be working diligently this summer to transform this cute little shed into a temporary retail shop just in time for the tour. I hope you all will join me for the tour!
