Ever wonder what the inside of our new CT scanner looks like? It’s not something most of us see, but it’s a great reminder of the complexity behind the care we provide every day.

Preventative maintenance is one of those behind-the-scenes realities our teams manage regularly. When it’s something as significant as the CT scanner, it’s a big deal. Planning starts well in advance to ensure patient care isn’t impacted. Schedules are carefully coordinated, workflows are adjusted, and neighbouring hospitals are engaged to support urgent cases if needed.

It may be just preventative maintenance, but it takes a tremendous amount of coordination across departments to make those periods as seamless as possible for our patients.

Behind every scan is a whole lot of teamwork and an amazing community of donors who make purchasing state of the art equipment like this possible. 💙

Yesterday, members of our Redevelopment Team were in Havelock-Belmont-Methuen to share an update with Council on the progress of our Campus of Care project.

These municipal conversations matter. They give us the chance to outline where we are in the planning process, speak to what’s coming next, and hear directly from local leaders about the priorities and perspectives of their community. The questions and discussion at Council tables help strengthen the work as it moves forward.

Earlier this week, Board Chair Carrie Hayward and CEO Jeff Hohenkerk had the opportunity to present an update on our Redevelopment project to Asphodel–Norwood Council. We’re incredibly grateful to Council for taking the time to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and engage in meaningful dialogue about the future of healthcare in our region. Bringing this once-in-a-generation project to life will require tremendous community support, strong partnerships, and a shared commitment to building something that will serve families today and for decades to come. Together, we have the opportunity to shape a modern Campus of Care that reflects the needs, hopes, and pride of the communities we serve.

Today we're excited to share that we've taken a major step forward in our redevelopment journey with the launch of the development of a comprehensive Clinical Services Plan and Master Program. Foundational work that will help shape the future of healthcare in our region.

This phase focuses on understanding current and future healthcare needs, examining population trends, and ensuring the services delivered in a new hospital reflect how care is provided today, and how it will need to evolve in the years ahead.

Redevelopment is about more than a new building. It’s about strengthening patient and family experiences, supporting staff and physicians, and planning responsibly for growth in a modern, sustainable rural healthcare environment.

At Campbellford Memorial Hospital recovery doesn’t always look like traditional therapy. Through innovative therapeutic technology, like our new Tovertofel which was made possible through the generous support of the Auxiliary to CMH and the Sienna for Seniors Foundation, as well as recreation-based programming, our Restorative Care team is helping patients regain mobility, strength, and cognitive function, all through the power of play.
