This poverty simulation workshop is a great way to gain a new perspective on the impacts of poverty in our community.

Do you understand what it's really like to live in poverty?

Gain a new perspective on the reality of many individuals in our community through this hands-on and informative group Poverty Simulation Workshop. You will manage a fictional family's budget; encounter real-life challenges like unexpected bills; and navigate day-to-day tasks like child care and attending work.

This reality may be closer than you think — impacting someone in your workplace, community group, school, sports team, or neighbourhood.

Friday, February 6 from 8:30am to 1:30pm

We’re excited to be partnering with Centra Cam on a new program that creates work opportunities for their clients while providing light cleaning support at our facilities.

A trial placement is currently underway at the Aquatic Centre, and with Council approving funding into 2026, the partnership may even grow into other City locations in the future.

We’re proud to support inclusive employment and to welcome these fantastic team members to our facility!

Camrose has heart… and yesterday reminded us why. 💙✨

We had such a sweet moment in the store yesterday afternoon. Several customers were at the till chatting with staff, two were visiting from out of town and the other was new to town.

Within minutes, everyone was chatting like old friends - asking about Midnight Madness, imagining the twinkle of downtown during the holidays, and celebrating all the ways local businesses and other community groups give back to this amazing community.

It did not take long before we all ended up saying the same thing:

“Camrose is such a caring, kind community and you can feel that there is so much heart here.” 🥰

It is true. You can feel it in every warm welcome, every bit of support for local shops, and every moment this community shows up for one another.

All of that heart is exactly why we feel so grateful to help Centra Cam Vocational Training Association collect non-perishable food for the Camrose Helps Food Drive right now.
