At Parallel Effects we help you move forward by learning from and partnering with our unique teachers-horses.

We have programs for individuals, women’s empowerment, mental health, trauma/addiction recovery. Parallel Effects provides Equine Assisted Learning life skill development programs. Currently offering women’s workshops , mental health, addiction and corporate team building and leadership programs. The dream is to empower clients through real life skill development and the powerful truths horses tell.

International women’s day

Today we honor women across the globe. 🌍

On International Women’s Day, I think about the women who show up here…
tired but trying
burned out but brave
quietly carrying more than anyone sees

And I think about the horses. 🐴

Horses do not respond to titles, productivity, or people-pleasing.
They respond to truth.
To breath.
To the nervous system underneath the smile.

In horse facilitated development, women practice something radical:
taking up space without apology.
Setting boundaries without explanation.
Leading without hardening.

Strength does not have to look sharp.
Power does not have to be loud.
Regulation is not weakness.

When a woman stands grounded beside a 1,200-pound horse and the horse softens,
that is leadership.
That is coherence.
That is embodied power.

Here’s to women remembering who they are
not by pushing harder
but by standing steadier.

Grief that hides in silence still takes up space in your body. You don’t have to explain why it hurts to a horse for it to be seen. 🧠

Your nervous system doesn’t heal by understanding— it heals by feeling safe. Horses offer that space. No pressure. No performance. Just presence.
When no one else sees it, they sense it. You don’t need the right words for them. You only need to show up as you are.

Some things simply need to be felt safely in the present.

The body heals from experience — and the horse offers that in real time.

Stillness is not passive. When you stop trying to fix, shift happens. Horses often re-engage when you ground, not when you try harder. Try this: Stand, breathe, wait.

You don’t need words to be seen. Not here.

The horses read what is real — with no judgement. They help carry out weight and confusion to find focus and calm.

Grief that can’t be explained is still worthy to be seen. Whether your loss is tangible, or invisible, complicated or long-past, the horses still respond to your truth. Leading towards regulation.

The horses will meet you right where you are at in this safe, inclusive and sacred space.

Any horse person will tell you that their horses have made them a better person. Working with horses builds your patience and your out of box thinking skills to name a few. Mine have taught me the gift of pausing life for a second or two. Whether it is pausing to capture of picture of a moment you enjoy, or pausing and taking in what is happening in the moment and living in it. Taking the time to slow down and enjoy the life you are living is a skill we can all keep working on. And I will. 🫶🏼
