When the tricks of Halloween fade, there's a treat on the other side: an extra hour of sleep.

Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday, November 2.

If time changes usually throw you off, try these tips to help you adjust:

- adopt a calming ritual before bed and limit screen time

- ease in by gradually shifting your sleep schedule

- if you need to take a nap, keep it short and sweet

- spend time outdoors to enjoy natural light

- keep a consistent exercise routine

- skip caffeine when it gets close to bedtime

If you typically have trouble falling asleep, talk to your primary care provider.

It’s normal to have questions about your body, mind and health and talking to your primary

care provider or care team is a safe place to start.

From sleep and stress to relationships and mental health, nothing is off-limits. People who

play a role in their own care make better, more informed choices and stay healthier.

Your primary care team is here to listen, not judge. Share this with a teen or young adult

in your life who might need the reminder that it’s okay to ask for help.

Misinformation about mental health can stop people from reaching out for support. Let’s set the record straight.

Support looks different for everyone. If you or someone you love is struggling, talk to your primary care provider. They can connect you with the right resources, including a referral to a psychologist or other mental health supports available through our and other programs.

This October, we’re recognizing

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects people across all backgrounds, influencing attention, impulse control and emotional regulation.

Awareness helps reduce stigma and opens the door to effective care. Behavioural
strategies, parent training, structured environments and medical support can all play a role in helping youth thrive.

If you have questions about ADHD symptoms or need support, reach out to your
primary care practitioner or PCN health team. We can help guide you to next steps and connect you with local resources.

If you live with a disability, know that your primary care provider and PCN health
professionals, such as social workers and youth mental health counselors, can support you. Find out how: https://kalynapcn.ca/

This Invisible Disability Awareness Week, remember to always conduct yourself with kindness — you never know what others are struggling with.
