Recenr studies have shown that many humans require more sleep during autumn- up to an extra 2 hours!
It's not that you've lost motivation post race season, it's that your body is also preparing for winter. Not to mention it's dark for many many hours and we miss that vit D!
Don't be afraid to get a few extra zzzz s or step outside to get some sunshine on your face during the day.

Use it or loose it!
Many athletes think that as long as they continue to move, they will continue to build muscle mass, which is only partially true.
The load of skis in this photo does increase the resistance of movement, and therefore creates some muscle building. But most of us still require some targeted strength training to prevent muscle loss. (Which after the age 25, we start to loose approximately 1/2lb of lean muscle per year without a regular strength program).
Strength training also helps address muscle imbalances that can occur with our mountain sports.

As we slowly transition from skiing to running remember that progression is key to longevity. Our muscles often adap much faster to the impact of running than or tendons and joints, which don't always give us as loud of feedback.

Remember that massage is a great tool in helping your soft tissue adapt to new and different training loads.
