Finding and choosing the right Chiropractor can be difficult. How do you answer these 4 simple questions?

1. Does your chiropractor give sufficient time to you on the first visit, and every subsequent visit?
2. Does he or she appear eager to help you get better as quickly as possible, and empower you to take care of yourself in the future?
3. Do you feel comfortable with your chiropractor?
4. Are you getting better as a result of the treatments and not just the mere passage of time?

Credentials, public patient reviews, plus friend/family referrals are invaluable when it comes to choosing a healthcare professional, that’s why we are so grateful for our clients and proud of our 5 ⭐️ google rating.

Our Chiropractor Marcus is registered with the College of Chiropractors of Alberta.

We are pleased to announce that Whitney Hannah is returning from maternity leave, offering Fascia Stretch Therapy treatments at GAiN Physical Health. Her schedule is open for online booking from October 1st, 2024 - https://gainphysicalhealth.janeapp.com/ #/staff_member/3

What is FST?
Fascia Stretch Therapy is distinct from traditional stretching because it decompresses, lengthens, and creates space in your fascia, thereby positively affecting ALL systems of the body, not just your muscles.

Whitney’s treatment uses movement through a series of stretches to unlock tension in the deepest layers of your tissues, addressing any imbalances, resulting in pain reduction and movement restoration.

Whitney offers 30, 50 and 80 minute treatments, and multi-treatment packages are also available to purchase.

Osteopathic health care is for every person, for all ages and stages of life.

Osteopathy aims to improve a person’s overall wellbeing, not just assessing a problem area or specific diagnosis, but taking into account biological, sociological and psychological needs of the person as well.

Osteopathic professionals provide care, input and advice across a range of sectors including advisory roles in the fields of government, international health, sports, education, rehabilitation, occupational health, safety and ergonomic design - not just individual health care.

If you are unsure if Osteopathy is for you, find out more about Tony, and Osteopathy by visiting our website https://gainphysicalhealth.com/osteopathic-therapy/

Research and evidence-based practices: always learning, always discovering

An increasing number of osteopathic professionals are pursuing academic degrees and getting involved in research. This not only strengthens the profession, but leads to inter-professional collaboration, ensuring more successful patient outcomes.

Tony, our Osteopathic Therapist, recently completed a Master’s degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine. This has strengthened his knowledge and skills to assess and treat sports injuries, and given him a better understanding of the affect that exercise has on common medical conditions such as Osteoarthritis.

As part of his studies Tony undertook a research project on how exercise affects the discs of the lumber spine in athletic populations. His thesis was titled: ‘Lumbar spine intervertebral disc pathology, pathomechanics and adaptability, considerations for the athlete: A narrative review of in vivo studies.’

If you’d like a read, his thesis is available on our website 📖🤓 https://gainphysicalhealth.com/tony-miller/

The Osteopathic Profession: Supporting and embracing science for centuries

From the very beginning, osteopathic professionals were curious to get a deeper understanding of how manual therapy affects human physiology, and how that translated to peoples’ health and their perceptions of pain and discomfort. This is how the research culture became imbedded in the osteopathic community.

The Journal of Osteopathic Medicine (JOM) was founded in September 1901 and known for 119 years as The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association. It is the premier scholarly, peer-reviewed publication of the osteopathic medical profession. Its mission is to serve as an international forum for disseminating scientific literature incorporating an integrative, comprehensive, patient-centered approach to clinical care and improving health.

As part of The Osteopathic International Alliance (OIA) we are going to be promoting ‘World Osteopathic Healthcare Week’ (WOHW). The idea is to bring together the global community of osteopaths and osteopathic physicians to celebrate our shared philosophy of mind-body-spirit, and to help inform our patients, the public, and regulatory authorities about osteopathic care.

We are going to dive into the research perspective of the Osteopathic profession, and how evidence-based practices are driving patient care.

Look out for some informative posts coming your way! 👨🏻‍🎓
