Found a fallen spruce tree with tons of immature cones! These will make a delicious soda for increasing vitamin c and buffering the immune system!

Take a look at this beautiful stinging nettle! I have never seen stinging nettle in the valley. This was by an old heritage home in Canmore with a spring near by. Stinging nettle has antihistamines that help with allergies, and the formic acid stings help relieve arthritis, and heal inflamed tissues! And the roots can help boost testosterone! And a tea made from the young leaves can be made for a super nutrient boost

Lilac Ice Cream ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ
Been dreaming of making this for years, with my absolute favorite flower. ๐Ÿ‡

I infused the flowers in cashew milk in the fridge for about 36 hours and it worked to infuse the floral flavour!! It was an experiment to see what would happen, so grateful it worked.

Added in some vanilla whey protein, and it tastes amazing!! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

๐ŸŒธ Rose medicine is heart medicine.
Have you ever looked closely at the petals of the Wild Alberta Rose? Each one shaped like a tiny heart โ€” a gentle sign from nature that this plant speaks to our own.

She soothes grief, softens edges, supports us in self-love, and makes a beautiful facial toner!

๐ŸŒฟ Join us for a Wild Edible Plant Walk in Canmore
Meet the Wild Rose and other local plant allies โ€” and learn to listen to the landโ€™s quiet wisdom.

Did you know you can eat rhubarb flowers?!

We love them! They are a little sour and bitter, similar in texture to young broccoli/cauliflower - ish.

**Make sure to remove all leaves surrounding the flowers, and thick stems as they are high in oxalic acid. Do not eat raw, only cooked.**

The flowers also contain oxalic acid but in lower amounts - we love to add a few to stirfrys for a kick! We also like to add butter, salt, balsamic vinegar and/or balsamic reduction.
