Meet Dr. Sophie Borho!!!
Dr. Sophie Borho grew up in Formosa, ON. She graduated with honours from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science in June 2025 and after graduation worked briefly near her hometown, Hanover, ON, before moving to Canmore. She has lived in the Bow Valley before and is thrilled to be back and have the opportunity to work as a doctor in the mountains.
Dr. Sophie loves that optometry allows her to meet people from all walks of life, and patient education and quality care are important to her. She enjoys emergency eye care, seeing kids for eye exams, and managing any eye condition, from dry eye to glaucoma to diabetic retinopathy. She has participated in outreach trips in the past to Jamaica and Nicaragua, and plans to continue helping with many more eye missions through her career.
When she isn’t working, Dr. Sophie loves being outside in the mountains hiking and learning to snowboard, or trying to learn a new instrument. She also loves baking and movies, and will talk about either all day long.
