For more than 30 years, the Foundation has been at the heart of health care in the Bow Valley, funding advanced equipment, supporting vital programs, and ensuring our community has access to world-class care close to home. Now, we’re entering an exciting new chapter and are seeking someone ready to lead us into the future.

This full-time, permanent role is based in Canmore and offers the opportunity to shape strategy, strengthen donor and community relationships, and lead a passionate, high-performing team.

What we’re looking for: a visionary people leader with a strategic mindset, strong communication skills, financial and organizational leadership experience, and a passion for growth and innovation. Proven experience stewarding donors, partnering on major gifts, and supporting campaigns; comfortable serving as the organization’s external champion.

Role details: full-time, permanent, based in Canmore, Alberta. Salary range $115,000 to $125,000. Reports to the Board of Directors.

🎓 Celebrating the Future of Health Care

We’re proud to announce the 20 recipients of the 2025 Bow Valley Health Care Scholarships!

In just four years, this program has grown from 3 awards to 20, with $41,000 invested this year in supporting local students pursuing careers in nursing, medicine, social work, massage therapy, therapeutic recreation, and more.

These incredible students represent the next generation of health care professionals who will strengthen care here in the Bow Valley and beyond.

Congratulations to all of this year’s recipients, your hard work and dedication inspire us all. And, of course, thank you to our generous donors and the Canmore Hospital Ladies' Auxiliary for making this program possible.

Today, we would like to celebrate and recognize the incredible Canmore Hospital Ladies' Auxiliary for their hard work at this season's summer markets at the Ralph Connor Memorial United Church. The markets have been an overwhelming success, garnering over $80,000 for the Canmore General Hospital. From donating their talents to make the beautiful goods they sell to offering their time to work at the booths, we couldn't be more inspired by and grateful for the women of CHLA. Thank you to everyone who's shopping at the market booth this year, everyone who's helped spread the word, and to the United Church for graciously hosting us each week. We love this community!

At the Canmore Hospital Foundation, we offer a few different ways for your gift to make a difference. One of the most impactful is our Equipment Fund.

Each year, we work closely with Alberta Health Services and hospital staff to identify essential equipment needs at Canmore General Hospital. Whether it’s replacing aging tools, upgrading to advanced technology, or introducing entirely new equipment, these purchases play a vital role in the quality of care available right here in our community.

From wireless cardiac monitors and fetal heart rate machines to ceiling lifts, surgical systems, and comfort items for palliative care, this fund has helped bring over a million dollars' worth of new equipment into the hospital since 2012. That’s more than $150,000 in equipment each year, made possible through donor support.

As our community grows and technology continues to evolve, our hospital’s equipment needs grow too. With your support, we can help Canmore General stay equipped to deliver exceptional care close to home.

🌿 More than a garden. At Canmore General Hospital, nearly 20 unique garden spaces offer more than beauty, they provide healing, peace, and connection for patients, long-term care residents, staff, and visitors.

These gardens are lovingly maintained by a team of over 20 volunteers who contribute more than 700 hours each year. From Erin’s Garden to the Indigenous Garden, each space tells a story and reflects the heart of our community.
