Infant massage is a nurturing practice that involves gentle massage, stretching, and communicating through touch using certain techniques. Some benefits include:

💛 Enhanced Bonding: Through touch, caregivers and infants strengthen their emotional connection, fostering trust and security.

💛 Physical Development: Massage promotes healthy physical development by stimulating circulation, improving muscle tones, and aiding digestion.

💛 Stress Reduction: Just as in adults, massage helps reduce infant stress levels, leading to a more relaxed and content disposition, which can also help with colic.

💛 Improved Sleep: Regular massage has been shown to improve sleep quality in infants, which benefits their overall health and development.

💛 Promotes Body Awareness: Through massage, babies become more aware of their bodies, which can positively affect their sensory and motor development.

Ever wonder what those marks are after myofascial cupping?

Cupping may leave temporary light to dark red or blue marks on the skin. These are caused by the suction of the cups and will disappear in 5 to 10 days.

Contrary to what you may think, cupping does not hurt. That said, you may experience mild discomfort if you're tense during treatment, and it may feel odd if it's your first time.

Stay hydrated after your massage therapy appointment! 💧

Massage therapy promotes the circulation of the blood and lymphatic system. During a massage, your therapist works out any muscle tension, which releases metabolic waste.

Drinking water replenishes lost fluids, aids in healthy circulation, and helps deliver oxygen and nutrients to the muscles and organs after treatment.

Staying hydrated can be especially important if you receive deep tissue massage, as the increased intensity can cause further dehydration.

So, please listen to your practitioner and drink water. 💧

People of all ages can benefit from massage therapy from infancy through adulthood!

While many individuals seek massage for chronic pain or to address a certain symptom or condition, you may simply wish to get a massage to relax and refresh.

We encourage Canadians to seek massage therapy year-round. It is an accessible form of treatment with therapists located all across the country.

Have you tried myofascial cupping? Myofascial cupping uses plastic, silicone, or glass cups to create a gentle suction on your skin, pulling up essential fluids and revitalizing the underlying tissues.

Myofascial cupping is often incorporated into other manual therapy techniques such as massage therapy, myofascial release, and trigger point therapy.

Using massage techniques, your practitioner will locate tension or congestion and apply cups to an affected area. The cups can be glided over the skin or placed on a fascial adhesion or trigger point for a short time to reduce or eliminate it.

Myofascial cupping can not only help alleviate soft tissue issues but also melt away musculoskeletal tension, tackle sporting injuries, and promote deep relaxation by activating the parasympathetic nervous system.
