To my wonderful clients, friends, and the entire Canora and greater district community,

With deep gratitude and a smile, I’m announcing that I’ve transferred ownership of HMTC to our dedicated and talented team member, Kelly Ivanochko.
My journey in natural medicine and therapy began in 1997 at the Canora Medical Clinic with Drs. Van Zyl, and reached a milestone when I established HMTC as my own practice in 2002. For almost 30 years, YOU have made this deeply rewarding through your support, your healing journeys, and your trust.
I step away from this role feeling happy and fulfilled, while feeling genuine joy and excitement for the future of HMTC under Kelly’s leadership. She will continue the care you’ve come to rely on and plans to grow our services and product offerings even further.
During this transition, I will continue to be available for appointments. Moving forward, I will remain active innovating and contributing to advancements in health and wellness, and I am excited for what the near future will bring.
Tomorrow morning the lights will be on, the clinic will be warm, and we look forward to serving everyone as HMTC always has.
Thank you — truly, from the bottom of my heart — for being part of this extraordinary chapter.

Some massage therapists are trained in the use of different tools and devices for their practice. Soft-tissue manipulation devices can be effective for releasing tension and pain.

Examples include stone therapy, myofascial cupping, IASTM tools, bamboo massage, and more.

These tools offer a dual benefit: allowing massage therapists to work deeper and more precisely and providing clients with noticeable relief. 💛

September is Arthritis Awareness Month.

According to Arthritis Society Canada, 1 in 5 Canadians live with arthritis, a collection of conditions affecting joints and other tissues. It causes pain, restricts mobility and diminishes quality of life.

Arthritis can be caused by underlying health problems, long-term repetitive activity (e.g. desk work), or simply the anatomy of the wrist.

Massage therapy can help. Learn how in this article from Arthritis.ca: https://arthritis.ca/living-well/2018/using-massage-therapy-to-treat-arthritis-pain

Experiencing muscle spasms? Muscle jolts or spasms can be painful and unpredictable. Massage therapy can help.

Spasms can be caused by many things: muscle fatigue, dehydration, stress, high-intensity exercise, improper sitting posture, and more.

Massaging the affected area can help alleviate pain, reduce tightness, and improve circulation. Your massage therapist may apply pressure using their fingers, elbows, or knuckles to defuse trigger points. There are a variety of techniques depending on the severity and frequency of spasms.

You can also self-massage the area before you can book in for your next appointment!

Infant massage is a nurturing practice that involves gentle massage, stretching, and communicating through touch using certain techniques. Some benefits include:

💛 Enhanced Bonding: Through touch, caregivers and infants strengthen their emotional connection, fostering trust and security.

💛 Physical Development: Massage promotes healthy physical development by stimulating circulation, improving muscle tones, and aiding digestion.

💛 Stress Reduction: Just as in adults, massage helps reduce infant stress levels, leading to a more relaxed and content disposition, which can also help with colic.

💛 Improved Sleep: Regular massage has been shown to improve sleep quality in infants, which benefits their overall health and development.

💛 Promotes Body Awareness: Through massage, babies become more aware of their bodies, which can positively affect their sensory and motor development.
