Kim has worked with lanes for 13 years, as one of our longest standing employees here; her dedication, love and compassion for the residents shines bright through her work, she's quick to answer the call to take extra shifts when needed and goes above and beyond all expectations of her title while never being late or taking sick days.

Kim; the fun loving, sarcastic and wittines she has is unmistakable. She makes working with her a complete joy and makes the day go faster with all the laughter and fun she displays, from dressing up, to dancing around to making jokes, she is the one to look for.

This award is certainly deserving of her as she all things and more!

A few months back, we were reached out to by the amazing Communities Aganist Violence coordinator Sky!

She had this beautiful and inspiring idea of doing a photo shoot of our resident’s to spread awareness for World Elder Abuse day!

Here we are with BE BOLD; Aging with attitude!

Today, they presented us with all the photo’s taking on that day and a beautiful poster that now hangs in our dinning room❤️

Our residents had a wonderful time at an Adaptive Line Dancing session with the amazing Jolly Rogers Jim Russell! 💃🕺

With walkers, canes, and plenty of smiles, everyone got moving to the music and showed that dancing is for all ages and abilities. The joy and laughter in the room were contagious proving once again that staying active can be fun and uplifting.

A big thank you to Jim for bringing so much energy and joy to our home!

Today, we remember the tragic events that caused the fall of the world trade centres!

September 11, 2001.

24 years ago, we are remembering the 2,977 people of the world trade centre, 120 flight passengers and flight attendants, 343 firefighters and 72 law enforcement officers who lost their live that day, we continue to pray for the 25,000+ people injured and effected by this horrific attack .

That day is the day the world stopped turning and sent shock waves around the globe.

We will never forgot❤️

A question i’ve asked today is; what were you doing when the world stopped turning?

We felt a little left out as everyone was getting on buses to go back to school last week! 🚍

so of course, we hopped right on to one!!

We started our beautiful Wednesday morning boarding the NL TOUR BUS - owned and operated by Eliza, this is our second year working with them and it’s always been such a amazing experience from both Eliza and the drivers, trust us when we say; a party tour bus from them is the way to go for seniors as well!!

As we made a mad dash for our tour to St. John’s, our residents were treated to Tim Hortons tea and coffee and a sweet treat from Robins donuts that was donated from both the carbonear locations! Once our lunch was done we broke out in dance and song all the way to our first location!

First stop; the Narrows, the beautiful breathtaking scenery and history, the boat coming in to port and the plane over head was certainly the icing on the cake.

Secondly; The new Titanic Expo! Our residents got to explore the wreckage of the titanic and even got to feel a piece of a real iceberg to show how cold that night water must have been, as well as getting to hold a small piece of the haul of the titanic collected from the owner on his own expedition in 2001!

Third stop; Newmans wine Vault! This vault was built in the 1700! Our residents got to explore this 300 year old vault and even got to have a small taste of the wine that would have aged there!

Last but certainly not least; we took a beautiful drive to flat rock to see “the Grotto” there is so much history here and it was absolutely stunning!

Before we knew it, we were back on the bus and making our way to the nearest Dairy Queen for our annual Ice Cream to fully end our tour!

Of course we still made the most of our drive home and never stopped dancing and singing!

Our residents will sleep so good tonight from the fun filled day they endured!! ❤️

Today we celebrate the beautiful Mrs. Mary Murray who turns 100 years old tomorrow ❤️

She celebrated her day with her most favourite people and of course her favourite singer. Mr. Robert Howell!

We hope you had the most amazing day and an even bigger amazing day tomorrow at your home celebrating again!

Let’s all join in and wish her the biggest happy birthday!
