Hello friends.
After a long and rocky spring and summer with a new baby and a pandemic, my Etsy shop is back open, so I thought I'd post here quickly and let folks know!

My newest little one, Ira, just turned a year old this week, and it's making me think of the projects I will be able to work on now that's he's a little older. This winter will bring lots of new jewelry designs, hopefully some metalsmithing (finally!!), and my regular adventures in plants, oils, and holistic wellness.
I haven't shown my face on here for quite some time (I don't use Facebook personally, so it often gets overlooked), so here's a photo of me today, at my home.

It snowed last night. This spring has been challenging: a cold start keeps us indoors much of the time with my new winter baby Ira, and a pandemic topping it all off- time feels like it's standing still most days.
Yesterday some snow melted away, revealing new growth on many of my perennial herbs. And while they've been put back to bed by a fresh dusting, it's still a hopeful sign that it will be warm.. eventually.

I love the wildness in which chamomile grows. These little ones were at , and were so vibrant and full of life.
Chamomile is good for so many things. Its calming on both the skin and body, and is great for teas, soaks, salves, and tinctures.
Chamomile always makes me think of my lovely friend , the queen of chamomile. Its beautiful just like her.

Some absolutely perfect spruce tips from my trip to the national park today. I snagged these right on the path, and look how beautiful they are.

Spruce tips are not only useful medicinally for coughs and other things, but these young tips can also make a tasty snack. Eat them raw, or saute them with butter. Add them to dishes, and experiment! They're tender and flavorful, and not at all woody as they're still much too young to be fully developed.
All young conifer tips can be eaten, such as fir, pine, and of course spruce. Just look for bright green new growth on the tips of their branches, they have quite a contrast and are fairly easy to spot.

One of the few resin pieces that just went up in my Etsy shop!
Each piece is one-of-a-kind, made with locally grown/wildcrafted plants and the highest quality eco resin.
Many of these plants hold medicinal qualities, like this lavender- harvested from my own back garden. While I generally prefer to use plants native to our Island, lavender is near and dear to me, not to mention absolutely stunning.

Cheering up the dreary, rainy morning with this colourful blend of herbs that will eventually become my Healing Skin Organic Salve. I love the pop of lavender against the background of calendula, chamomile and nettle. It smells wonderful too.

Six weeks later and look at the richness of this elderberry tincture.
Great on it's own, or made into a syrup, it's immune boosting properties are perfect for this time of year.
One of my favourite medicinal berries, and easy to grow as well!
