Embracing the Tough Days & Tiny Wins 💪💫

I’ve been navigating a lot lately: my mom in and out of the hospital, setting healthier boundaries with loved ones and loosing some close relationships, juggling a second business (and feeling a bit stuck), and then throwing out my back—and yup, there are mornings I’ve barely rolled out of bed. It’s heavy. It’s exhausting. It’s real. I’ve felt defeated, like every door is closing, and my nervous system wants to freeze. 🌀

But growth doesn’t mean pretending it doesn’t hurt. I can intellectually see the lessons, but I also feel every bit of this. And that’s okay. I’m choosing to honor every emotion—anger, tears, relief, fatigue—and I’m reminding myself: this too shall pass. 🌧️➡️🌤️

Here are the small rituals that have helped me climb back up, one tiny task at a time:

Start with the smallest task: color a picture to relax the mind, then finish it. The tiny finish boosts dopamine and momentum. 🎨

Honor the feelings: name them, feel them, let them flow. Tears, anger, fatigue—they’re valid. 💧

Move what you can: even a gentle stretch or a short walk when possible helps the nervous system reset. 🚶‍♀️

Ask for support: reach out, share what you’re going through, and accept help. You don’t have to do this alone. 🤝

Remind yourself of resilience: “this too shall pass” is not a shrug—it’s a promise you’re choosing to keep. 🕊️

If you’ve felt this heavy too, you’re not alone. I’m sharing this to normalize the struggle, not to pretend it’s perfect. And I’d love to hear from you: what small, doable thing has helped you bounce back in the past? Drop your tips in the comments so we can lift each other up. 💬💛

💤 Rest isn’t laziness; it’s essential for recovery and performance. Studies show sleep and downtime support memory consolidation, immune function, and stress regulation.
🫶 The pattern of nonstop action often traces back to childhood survival cues: the fear “If we stop, we aren't safe” can program the nervous system to stay hyperaroused. This isn’t a moral failing—it’s a learned response that many adults still carry.
🌱 Chronic activation of the stress response (a common pattern in modern hustle culture) is linked to elevated cortisol, burnout, and impaired executive function. Recognizing this as a biology–not a weakness, helps reframe rest as protective.

What rest does for you, facts in brief:
Improves memory and learning by allowing brain processes to consolidate new information.
Supports immune function and lowers inflammation, reducing illness risk.
Regulates mood and reduces anxiety by balancing autonomic nervous system activity.
Enhances creativity and problem-solving after a true reset.
Helps metabolism and energy regulation, reducing long-term fatigue.

Take a moment to ground yourself in the present:
You are safe in your body.
Acknowledge what you have: shelter, food, clean water, access to care.
You’re alive, you’ve survived, you’re allowed to rest.

📵 Real rest means targeted boundaries: shut the phone down, pause work notifications, and give your nervous system a break.
🌟 It’s common to feel resistance to power-down—that’s a normal nervous system response. Repetition and structure (short, regular rest periods) train the body to expect rest and reduce avoidance over time.

Practical rest strategies:
Schedule 15–30 minute breaks every 2–4 hours to reset
Create a brief pre-rest ritual (breathing, gentle stretch, or a brief walk) to cue the calm state.
Limit screen exposure 1–2 hours before bed to improve sleep quality and memory consolidation.
Practice body-check-ins: name five things you feel or notice in your environment to ground yourself.

Does this resonate?
💬 Share a fact or habit you’re willing to test this week to prioritize rest.

I just wanted to do a shout out to these amazing women who created a safe space to be present and let go last night. 🌙 I felt very nurtured and held in their beautiful space in Carelton Place. We were met with reiki, hot stones and sound healing, such a magical blend. ✨️ As a practitioner I find it so important for myself to recieve and fill my cup too.

Last night sound jounrey brought up an array of emotions. From tears flowing at the start, to having very vivid visions, lots of anger, then circling around to happy peaceful moments. I saw lots of colours that was coming through like a kaleidoscope, which was super cool.

While in my visions I took over and asked to journey to find another spirit animal of mine, a blue whale popped up. 🐋 On top of that my visions were directed to an old friend of my that passed away about 10 years ago on a motorcycle. He came through as a guardian for me. So neat! It was nice to see him riding and happy. Sound takes you places sometimes you would never think to even go! I love it.

Thanks again ladies and to my beautiful friend Miranda who joined me too. Love ya lady ❤️🌹

When we unlock our truth we unlock better choices, deeper connections, and real momentum. What if stepping into your truth can shift your whole week? Choose honesty and authenticity over comfort. What's is one action or truth you want to embrace this week? How do you think this will impact your life both good and bad? 💙
