Attention Bells Corners clients! Bells Mews is undergoing a refresh!

Bells Mews is currently getting some cosmetic updates. As such, there are paint fumes, removal of carpets, and closed washrooms in the building. Please try to use the bathroom at home prior to your visit, however the washroom on the 3rd floor is open if needed — ask your midwife for directions! If you would like to change your visit to virtual, please call the clinic to do so. These renovations are likely to last into November.

Ottawa Valley Midwives Reunion 2025!!!

What an amazing day! A huge thank you to all the clients who were able to join us for the reunion today! It was wonderful to see you all, especially all decked out in your best Halloween costumes!!! What’s cuter than a bunch of kiddos (and their adults) in costumes!? We had the pleasure of having our previous High School Co-op student Serena Scott with us today! She is shadowing Tylee in clinic today as she’s now in her first year of the Midwifery Education Program! Here she is getting cuddles with 4 week old Cade 🥰

In light of the recent claims made about the safety of Tylenol in pregnancy, the OVM midwives want our clients to know that Tylenol remains a safe medication in pregnancy. Evidence does not support claims that taking Tylenol while pregnant causes autism or other neurodevelopmental disorders, and there is actually good quality evidence opposing these claims. The safety of Tylenol in pregnancy has been recently reaffirmed by the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada, Health Canada, and the Provincial Counsil for Maternal and Child Health (who we borrowed this post from), just to name a few. Ask your midwives if you have any questions!

Attention OVM Community!

We have a client who is urgently in need of a car seat. She’s quickly approaching her due date and hasn’t had any luck finding one. If you or someone you know has a newborn car seat they can part with, it would be greatly appreciated!

If you’re considering donating, please scroll to see the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada’s Used Seat Checklist to make sure it’s safe for second-hand use.

To avoid ending up with more car seats than needed, please email the clinic at reception@ottawavalleymidwives.com so we can coordinate with you.
