May 5th is International Day of the Midwife!!!

Today is a day to celebrate the midwifery profession and the vital role midwives play in supporting the health of childbearing people and their newborns 💖

Ottawa Valley Midwives is a group of 12 skilled midwives working together out of two clinic locations in Carleton Place (top) and Bells Corners (bottom). We provide comprehensive care during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum to those with low risk pregnancies. We are proud to attend births at Almonte General Hospital, Queensway Carleton Hospital, and at clients’ homes from Manotick to Carp to Lanark to Renfrew and everywhere in between! We love being with our clients along their pregnancy and early postpartum journeys, offering support, education, and clinical expertise 💖

After a long hiatus, the Almonte General Hospital labour tub is available for use!!! We’re so happy our clients will have this option again as water can be a great option for pain relief during labour! 🛀
