This is great news for the women of Saskatchewan. Anyone aged 45 and up can now call and self-refer for a mammogram at any of the eight designated screening locations throughout Saskatchewan. In Jan 2026, the screening age will drop to 43 and in June 2026, it will drop to 40.
To help build capacity, new mammography machines have been added in Regina and Saskatoon.
Please help get the word out to family, friends and colleagues about the importance of getting a mammogram in the 40s. Cancers are more aggressive in the 40s and 17% of breast cancers do happen in the 40s.
Not 45 yet? Right now, anyone aged 40-44 can get a mammogram as well but will need a requisition.
