Microneedling has roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine facial rejuvenation practices, where controlled stimulation of the skin was used to support circulation, healing, and healthy ageing of the face.
Today, microneedling works through the same core principle: controlled micro-injury to stimulate collagen and elastin production. This can improve skin texture, soften fine lines, support scar remodeling, and enhance overall skin tone and firmness.
It is a clinical treatment and should be performed by a properly licensed and trained practitioner. Depth, technique, and skin assessment all matter—incorrect use increases risk of irritation, infection, or pigmentation changes.
In practice, I combine microneedling with TCM-based serums, including formulations containing apple stem cell extract and botanical actives designed to support tissue repair, calm inflammation, and enhance post-treatment skin recovery.
Clinically, microneedling can support:
• Collagen production
• Skin texture and tone improvement
• Fine line reduction
• Scar and mark remodeling
When done correctly, it is a regulated, results-driven treatment that works with the body’s natural healing response rather than against it.
