Are you looking to give back to your community? Consider volunteering at our International Overdose Awareness Day event on August 31st! A great opportunity for nursing and social work students looking to get more volunteer hours.

The available volunteer jobs are:

- Greeting arrivals at the entrance
-Managing merch sales & supervising tables
-Food preparation
-Set up of the event
-After event clean-up

Are you a woman looking to get out and meet other women? Then our new women's group is made just for you!

Some of the activities include a walking group 2 times a week (depending on interest), working on issues like self-love, boundaries, self-care, crafts groups, and more to come as interest in the group increases!

The group will be running between August & September 2021, please contact the CDCSS office to register by calling 250-365-2104. Spaces are limited, so register now to ensure a space! 😄

The CDCSS is asking for your help! We are accepting donations of sunscreen, bottled water, chapstick, hats, shades/sunglasses, and granola bars. The drop-off sites are at the Millennium park concession stand and CDCSS downtown office. With the local shelter soon closing, we are hoping that the donations from our community can make this extremely warm summer a bit more manageable for our homeless population. Please share this post, and consider donating any of the items listed. Millennium Concession is open every day of the week from 11:00 am to 7:00 PM, and the downtown CDCSS office is open Monday-Friday from 8:30-4:30 PM. (Note that CDCSS office is closed from 12:00pm-1:00 each day)
