Don’t leave your benefits unused — turn them into time for healing and renewal.

As the year comes to a close, it’s the perfect time to prioritize you. Most extended health benefit plans reset on December 31, which means any unused coverage for acupuncture or other wellness services will disappear — even if you’ve paid for it through your plan.

Here’s why now is the best time to book:
• 🌿 Maximize your coverage: Use what you’ve already paid for before your plan resets.
• 🧘‍♀️ Beat the holiday rush: Appointments fill up quickly in November and December.
• 💆 Recharge before the new year: Enter 2026 feeling balanced and restored.

Our September Newsletter from Alanna
“ Hey there, Alanna here! If we haven’t met yet, I am one of the acupuncturists here at ReGen, also a Certified Holistic Nutritionist.
I had the privilege to write the newsletter this September.
As a holistic nutritionist, I always aim to support your body with a food-first approach, helping you get key nutrients from whole foods. However, in our busy lives it is just almost impossible to get all the nutrients that our body needs from food, luckily supplements can bridge nutritional gaps and acupuncture can help manage specific issues like tension and pain.
If you are you experiencing tension and chronic pain that just won’t quit? In our busy lives, it’s common to feel the effects of stress and physical discomfort.
I put together this list to help you manage your pain in addition to your acupuncture treatments! Enjoy the rest of your summer! “- Alanna

“Rest and self-care are so important. When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. You cannot serve from an empty vessel.” - Eleanor Brownn 🧘‍♀️

How to get your summer TLC the TCM way.

In other words, to align with summer, embrace with the fire element ( As summer is associated with the Fire element and the heart meridian, emphasizing joy, passion, and social interaction)

Here are some suggestions:
- Joy and passion.
Engage in activities that bring you joy and express your passions. This helps balance the heart’s energy.
- Social Connection:
Spend time with loved ones, participate in social events, and enjoy lighthearted activities.
- Moderate Excitement:
While joy is encouraged, avoid overstimulation, which can disrupt heart energy.

2. Dietary Recommendations:
- Cooling Foods:
Focus on foods that have a cooling nature, such as watermelon, cucumbers, lettuce, and other green vegetables.
- Hydration:
Drink plenty of water and consider herbal teas like peppermint or green tea to stay hydrated.
- Avoid Ice and Cold Foods:
While tempting in the summer, cold foods and drinks can slow digestion and metabolism, according to TCM.
- Eat Lightly:
Opt for lighter meals and avoid overeating, as digestion can be more challenging in warmer weather.
- Seasonal Foods:
Favor foods that are in season, as they are naturally attuned to the body’s needs for the summer months.

3. Lifestyle Practices:
- Rest at Midday:
TCM suggests resting during midday, particularly between 1 pm and 3 pm, to support the Small Intestine’s optimal function.
- Early Wake and Later Bedtime:
Embrace the longer daylight hours by waking earlier and going to bed a little later, aligning with the Yang energy of summer.
- Moderate Exercise:
Engage in moderate outdoor activities to harness the Yang energy, but avoid overexertion during peak heat.
- Mindfulness and Relaxation:
Practice mindfulness and relaxation techniques to balance the high energy of the season and prevent overstimulation.
- Calm Strength Movement:
Choose activities like yoga or Pilates that promote both physical exercise and inner calm.
- Say No:
Learn to say no to activities that drain your energy or overextend your capacity.
- Enjoy the Outdoors:
Spend time in nature, soak up the sunshine, and appreciate the beauty of the season.

Frequently asked questions: How many acupuncture treatments do I need?

This is such a great question!

Acupuncture is cumulative. This means that after each treatment, the goal is for you to feel a little bit better, for a little longer, until you get to a place where you can manage your stress and pain better. Then we can start spacing the treatments out, to see how you feel.

A lot of people feel relieved and relaxed after one acupuncture treatment. To make that feeling last, however, multiple treatments are needed.

How many?

It always depends on the person, because everyone is different. Generally the recommendation is once a week for 3-4 treatments for acute cases.

Then we’ll try two weeks between treatments, then three, etc.

Many of our patients come in monthly for maintenance treatments and monthly self-care.

Acupuncture is incredibly helpful at preventing anxiety, managing stress and pain once we’ve got it under control, so wellness visits are a very helpful option at that point.
