📍 From Souris to Alberton, Laboratory Services are here for you!

🧪 Lab services are used to examine, diagnose, and monitor disease and other health conditions.

Your doctor may request to have a specimen (bodily fluid or tissue sample) sent to the laboratory for testing. The type of test your doctor requests will determine what samples are required, how and when they are collected, and how they will be tested once they arrive at the lab.

PEI is leading the way in cancer prevention.

Starting March 2026, Prince Edward Island will lower the age for colorectal cancer screening from 50 to 45, becoming the first province in Canada to adopt earlier screening.

Colorectal cancer rates are rising among people under 50. Screening earlier helps detect cancer sooner—often before symptoms appear—when treatment is most effective.

Islanders aged 45–74 at average risk will be eligible for a free at-home FIT test every two years.
