We were thrilled to have Jon Schut join us as a guest speaker at the jail for 4 weeks as he facilitated a peacebuilding course!

Here's what Jon had to say about his experience:

"It is always a transformative experience when you enter a space as a teacher and leave feeling like a student. These four weeks exploring life skills that help us to grow as peacemakers provided me with such great encouragement and hope, and I leave feeling inspired to continue the work of peacemaking in my own life, while encouraging it in the lives of others. 'Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.'"

Every person we work with has different needs. Our job is to meet them where they’re at and let them know we’re here for them no matter what.

Overheard in Chapel at the jail this week...

We noticed some of the women were wearing the cross necklaces we gave them around their ankles.

We asked them why.

Their response: "We're walking with Jesus!"

Some days are hard and some days are sad, but there are lots of days filled with laughter too. We love these girls - they bring us so much joy!

We can't think of a better way to end the year - not only did we meet our $15k Christmas Backpack Campaign goal...we exceeded it!

Thank you to everyone who supported us this year, we are grateful to be part of such a generous community, and we see the positive impact of your actions every single day.

2025 was a big year for us as we celebrated our 20th anniversary. We've come a long way since those first days and we're ready to keep going and keep growing.

Wondering what this $15,000 will do?

It will be used to provide backpacks full of hygiene essentials for women who are leaving jail after being incarcerated.

The courses and mentoring we provide in the jail help build life skills they can use to make a fresh start. And the backpacks give them something tangible to remind them they have a support system cheering them on 🫶🏻
