Today, our government launched the first phase of the At Home Caregiver Benefit.

Islanders with a high likelihood of admittance to long-term care may qualify for a new benefit that would enable them to stay in the comfort of their home while receiving ongoing care from a primary caregiver.

This benefit will:
💲 Provide financial assistance ranging from $250 to $1,500 per month
💞 Be available to caregivers providing significant, unpaid help with housework, finances, shopping, transportation, personal care, meals, and more
🏡 Help Islanders age in place, staying in the homes and communities they love

Expansion of this program to other groups is planned for the future. For information on this program, visit: https://bit.ly/AtHomeCareGiverBenefit

Islanders with a high likelihood of needing long-term care might qualify for a new financial support to remain in their homes while receiving care from a primary caregiver.

The At Home Caregiver Benefit is designed to assist caregivers—whether family members, friends, or neighbors—who provide essential, unpaid support such as housework, shopping, personal care, and more. This new benefit ranges from $250 to $1,500 per month, based on the care recipient’s household income.

To learn more and to connect with a local home care office for an assessment, please call 1-800-371-8245. If the care recipient is deemed clinically eligible, a supports coordinator will assist with the application process.
