Dianne Birt Counselling and Wellness I offer trauma-informed counselling therapy for psychological issues and mental health concerns.

I offer counselling therapy for a variety of psychological issues and mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, stress, and grief ; career counselling services are also available. I take clients of all ages – from children and teens, through to adults, including seniors, for individual counselling. I also offer wellness-related workshops such as stress management,

work-life balance, and resilience to businesses and groups. Workshops can be tailored to suit the specific needs and interests of your workplace or group.

Introducing Student Intern, Jordan Drake! Jordan begins his practicum with me on September 2nd and is accepting new clients.
Jordan brings several years of experience working as a Youth Care Worker, drawing on a strong foundation in psychology from his undergraduate studies at the UPEI. He is currently completing his practicum as part of the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. Jordan has a particular interest in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and is passionate about helping clients navigate life’s challenges with compassion and clarity. Outside of his professional life, Jordan values spending quality time nurturing close relationships and finds inspiration in the arts—especially music and film.

As I finish writing my next book, I’ve done an incredible amount of research on the brain. And the takeaway is: your brain is very primal. It only wants to keep you alive.

One thing we need to find is meaningful hobbies and goals. Hobbies that bring us joy and presence in our body. Goals that drive us toward something— that keep us practicing and trying and testing out resilience.

These things give the brain rest from scanning for threats. They give the brain challenge, and (healthy) stimulation, and they help the brain consistently create new neural pathways.

Help your brain stay stimulated, evolving, and fulfilled.

I offer counselling therapy for mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, stress, grief, and various life transitions/struggles. I accept clients of all ages for individual counselling. I also offer wellness-related workshops on stress management and mindfulness to businesses and groups and can tailor workshops to suit your specific needs. I am certified in Trauma-Informed Yoga Therapy (TIYT™), and can offer private sessions for this approach. I also teach public trauma-informed yoga classes.
