Biography:
Andrea began practicing yoga in her early 20′s as a means to open her tight overworked muscles as part of training for both marathons and triathlons. Andrea began her yoga journey in 2001 and completed her first 200-hour YTT at a summer intensive program in Ottawa led by Yogi Vishvketu. Andrea has taken numerous workshops and trainings over the years but has learned the most from her e
ver growing students and dedicated personal practice. Some of her yoga teaching highlights include leading yoga for the Ottawa Senators for 6 years, guiding different musicians at Ottawa Bluesfest one summer, travelling to epic locations to lead yoga with her curated Yoga + Adventure retreats for last 12 years and leading yoga and meditation at her kids school. Her practice continues to evolve by drawing inspiration from many different forms of yoga particularly Vinyasa, Hatha, Iyengar, Yin and Power. She is known for combining strength, mobility and power with softness and fluid motion in a creative flow. Her aim is also provide a quiet space for meditation and breath work giving students and introspective experience for a complete mind-body-spirit connection. When not on her yoga mat, Andrea is an avid athlete with a passion for the outdoors, she spends much of her free time on the trails in the Gatineau Park enjoying mountain biking, road biking, trail running, snowboarding and skate skiing. Andrea currently splits her time between Quebec and PEI with her husband and 2 boys. She leads a full yoga schedule online through Zoom with up to 3 classes daily featuring different workshops and guest teachers. Andrea continues to lead yoga in person at clients homes and backyards (inquire about rates), leads outdoor group classes, Yoga for a Cause at Zibi (Cello & Yoga for Ukraine and Indigenous Women of Canada), work space yoga and meditation in person and on zoom and various Yoga Festivals.
