What a pleasure to meet today! The practice of 108 Sun Salutations supported our local food bank and Susan led a Kirtan to follow. We look forward to having Susan back for more workshops soon!

Where do you go when the wind blows
Through the hollow places of your soul?
Her eyes grow soft and crystal
Her heart bared open and welcoming
In the moonlight of a silent night

To winter cliffs, she says, barren and forlorn
Lashed with salt spray,
Shivering, on the precipice between
A known sadness, bone deep, alone
And the warmth of another, rooted, and held

How can such be a difficult choice?
To stay frozen in past versions of oneself
Braced against the unknown
These versions of you lay passed, died
Honoured and welcomed to rest

Belonging is a warmth, rarely promised
Fragile and flawed, she whispers
Not unlike the dunes that protect the land
Made strong by the winds they’ve battled
Bound together, by the roots of flora

The warmth of firelight traces her doubt
Across lines on her skin, scarred, hidden
Winters rest is fated preparation for spring
To welcome rebirth, a new version of you
One entrusted, to find freedom in change
