At yesterday's Annual General Meeting, we came together to celebrate an incredible year of impact and look ahead to another inspiring year.

Some of our 2024-25 highlights include:

⭐ Expanding the QEH Foundation's mission to also include clinical priorities! New initiatives that improve care and enhance the well-being of patients and staff beyond equipment.
⭐ Through the generosity of donors, funding life-changing equipment in 21 departments across the QEH including the Emergency Department, NICU, Diagnostic Imaging, and the PEI Cancer Treatment Centre.
⭐ Sharing heartwarming stories of gratitude from patients and families.
⭐ Celebrating the inspiring ways the community comes together to support the hospital! Collectively, around 70 groups and organizations across the Island raised $767,463 for the QEH Foundation.
⭐ Welcoming new board members and expressing our gratitude to our outgoing ones.

All this is only possible because of you. Thank you for making a difference for patients, visitors, and our care teams at the QEH! Together, we are shaping the future of Island healthcare. 🧡

🍼 If you have any new or gently loved sleepers you would like to share with our littlest patients, our NICU and Pediatrics teams are looking for:

1. Cotton preemie sleepers
2. Cotton newborn sleepers
3. Cotton 3-6 month and 6-12 month sleepers

Each fall, Nancy Russell holds a special sunflower fundraiser in memory of her son, Callum, who passed away from cancer at 15. 🌻 During his time at the QEH, Callum was cared for by the Pediatrics team. Now, she gives back to help other children receiving care at the QEH.

In partnership with Lil Farm On The Jib (84 MacLennan Rd, Hazelbrook) Nancy will be selling 10 sunflowers for $10 this Sunday, September 14, from 10am–2pm. Every bloom sold supports the QEH Pediatrics Unit through the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation. 🧡

Sunflowers have always been special to Nancy and her family. They bloom around Callum’s birthday and sunflower seeds were shared with loved ones at his celebration of life. They are seen as a lasting symbol of hope, love, and optimism. 🌻

If you’re out and about this weekend, be sure to stop by Lil Farm On The Jib, pick up a bundle of sunflowers and support Pediatrics Care at the QEH! ☀

Donor dollars in action! 🧡

A heartfelt thank you to Canada Cycles for Kids for their generous $75,000 gift, which helped bring a new Pediatric Sensory Room to life at the QEH. This engaging space offers young patients a welcome distraction from their medical journey, filled with interactive elements designed to ease stress and help them feel supported and empowered.

The Canada Cycles for Kids team cycled into Charlottetown back in July 2023 as a part of the Maritime Odyssey Cycling Tour, raising funds and awareness to make this meaningful project a reality. Their dedication and compassion have made a lasting impact, and we’re so grateful for their support.
