9 days before the PEI Half Marathon, my friend Clare sprained her ankle so badly she couldn’t even walk. We figured race day was off the table-but we started short, daily osteopathic treatments, focusing on improving blood flow, drainage, and removing any obstructions to healing.
Without even touching her ankle directly, we gradually made enough progress that she was not only walking normally again but ran the entire half marathon in just 2 hours (and beat me!).
It’s a great reminder of how incredible our bodies truly are, and how osteopathy can support the body’s natural ability to heal and self-regulate.
Osteopathy isn’t just helpful for injury recovery-it also plays an important role in enhancing movement, improving performance, and preventing injuries before they happen. Whether you’re training for a race or just staying active, keeping your body balanced and functioning optimally makes all the difference.
