Here’s the first glimpse of my new office space. Still a few things needed, but I think it’s warm and inviting! There’s an open house this afternoon/evening. I am unable to make it, but come check out my office and learn about the amazing programming at the Active Lifestyle Centre!

The office has moved! I am now located at 20 Merritt Ave in Chatham. I’m inside the Active Lifestyle Centre (which is just hopping if you haven’t checked it out!). I’m looking forward to having some more space. I even have room to run groups now! What would YOU like to see?

The Chatham-Kent Sexual Assault Crisis Centre hosted a flag-raising at noon today to recognize Sexual Assault Prevention Month. The event aimed to raise awareness and promote healthy and positive relationships based on respect, safety and equality.

Police Chief Gary Conn shared, “We generally average between 90-100 sexual assault incidents per year in Chatham-Kent. Last year was the first year we have seen a significant reduction in incidents. In 2022, we had a 30% reduction, down to 74.”

Mayor Darrin Canniff thanked those who are doing the work and emphasized the importance of education in preventing sexual violence.
