๐Ÿฅ›๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿ“ฑ When money runs out, something has to give.

After paying for food and rent, many households in Chatham-Kent are left without enough income to cover other essentials, like transportation, phone bills, clothing, school supplies, or personal care items.

Food insecurity is about insufficient income. Rising costs means families are forced into impossible choices every month.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Understanding the root cause is the first step toward real solutions.

โš  CK Public Health Alerts Community to Uninspected Tattoo and Piercing Provider โš

Chatham-Kent Public Health has identified inadequate equipment disinfection practices at an uninspected and unlicensed tattoo and piercing provider. These concerns apply to tattoo and piercing services provided at:

๐Ÿ“ Willows Tattoo and Piercing, located at 805 Grand Avenue West in Chatham, Ontario, between October 1, 2025 and March 23, 2026.

Individuals who received services at Willows Tattoo and Piercing during the specified timeframe are advised to contact their health care provider to arrange a clinical assessment. Those without a health care provider should visit a walk in clinic for evaluation.

Insufficient infection control procedures during tattoo and piercing services increases the risk of transmitting blood-borne infections, such as HIV or Hepatitis, as well as infections of the skin.

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Eating well shouldnโ€™t take most, or more than all, of your income.

In Chatham-Kent, many households spend the majority of their income on rent and food alone.

When income doesnโ€™t match the true cost of living, food insecurity becomes unavoidable.

๐Ÿ“Š These numbers show why food insecurity is a policy issue, not a personal one.
