Each year on Trans Day of Remembrance, we solemnly remember 2 Spirit, trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse lives lost to violence, hate, illness, su***de, substance use, and institutional failure.

The crisis is urgent: 35% of trans people in Ontario seriously considered su***de in the past year, and 11% attempted. 12% also used one or more high-risk illicit drugs. This is the tragic result of identity rejection, denied care, and inaccessible safety.

We hold their memory, share in the community's grief, and stand with the trans people who continue to lead, create, and advocate, living their truth. They deserve a world that is safe, supportive, and equitable.

It's National Addictions Awareness Week 💛

This week marks National Addictions Awareness Week - a time to listen, to learn, and to support those affected by substance use and addition.

This year’s theme is “Anchoring Hope.” Addiction is not a choice. Like any other health issue, people experiencing addition deserve compassion and care. We must continue to break down barriers, reduce stigma, and make it easier to support those who need help.

The Government of Canada is working to raise awareness of the overdose crisis, with a focus on prevention, reducing stigma, and supporting people who are seeking help. Visit: https://ow.ly/H4cc50Xt0oa

On September 30th, the Youth Wellness Hub stands in solidarity with Indigenous communities to mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

This is a day to honor Residential School Survivors, their families, and the enduring strength of Indigenous communities in the face of profound injustice.

We recognize the deep pain caused by Canada’s residential school system and colonial policies, and we are committed to ongoing learning, reflection, and action in partnership with Indigenous voices.

We also acknowledge and uplift the vital leadership of Indigenous peoples—particularly in mental health, the arts, and advocacy—and remain dedicated to supporting these efforts within our communities.
