Midwives of Chatham-Kent

Ontario midwives are experts in normal pregnancy, birth and newborn care. All care is covered by OHIP, and services are free to non-OHIP carriers excluding costs of labs/ultrasounds/hospital-incurred fees. Midwives are skilled to attend birth both in hospital and home.

**Please be advised that no individual medical advice will be given on this page. If you need to get a hold of your midwife, call the office or use the pager if it is an emergency.

We are so excited to welcome two new students this coming January! Check out their bios below. ⬇️
Rayna: My name is Rayna, and I’m thrilled to be joining the Midwives of Chatham-Kent as an international midwifery bridging student from January to March 2026. I moved to Ontario in 2024 from Wisconsin in the U.S., and I’m excited to share my passion for midwifery with the families of Chatham-Kent. After working as a labor and delivery nurse for eight years, I went back to school and obtained my Master’s degree in Nursing – Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University in Kentucky. I worked as a certified nurse-midwife in rural Wisconsin for several years before uprooting myself and chasing my dreams in Canada. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my dog Darwin and my three cats, reading, crafting, and being in nature. I’m looking forward to meeting you all, and I would be honored to be a part of your journey.

Hope: Hope is a second-year midwifery student from McMaster University. She grew up in Fredericton, New Brunswick and moved to Ontario to pursue midwifery. She previously completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology-Chemistry at the University of New Brunswick. Hope has had the pleasure of working as a ski and swim instructor, gaining experiences that strengthened her love for connecting with people and sharing knowledge. Outside of studying, she enjoys hiking, playing music, cooking, and cross-stitching.
