Each patient receives fully customized treatment based on their goals and needs. In many cases 75% ADP funding is available and will be arranged on behalf of the patient. Free assessments can be arranged by appointment and treatment is provided with a prescription. WSIB, ODSP, ACSD, NIHB and DVA funding is available for those who qualify. Certified Orthotists, CO(c), are recognized by all insurance providers as the orthotic treatment specialists.
We are also familiar with off-the-shelf or centrally fabricated bracing options – soft lumbar supports to offloading knee orthoses for osteoarthritis – we can assess and provide the best solution to meet your patient’s needs. Custom modifications to soft orthoses can be done to accommodate ostomies, hernias, ulcers etc. Custom shoe modifications are done on-site – we can add lifts, excavate soling, add rockers, SACH heels or buttresses – if necessary we can cast and have the shoes made directly to the patient’s cast.
CK Ortho is also proud to be the Southwestern Ontario provider for the Bioness L300 Foot Drop system (see enclosed brochure) and H200 Hand therapy system. Using Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES), the L300 can be used for stroke survivors to control their foot drop. This amazing technology is changing the way we treat spastic foot drop resulting from upper motor neuron lesions or injury. Free assessments are provided and low-cost trials can be arranged for the patient to try it in their functional setting. Although not eligible for government funding, CK Ortho can help to provide supporting research and patient video for as justification for a patient’s insurance provider. Most insurance companies provide funding on a case-by-case basis.
