We have some changes coming up to our hours of operation during the time period of April 3rd -10th as Mark is taking some well deserved vacation time and will be gone for this entire period:

April 3rd to 6th - Clinic is closed for Easter weekend
Tuesday April 7th - Clinic is open 8am-5pm
Wednesday April 8th - Clinic is open from 1pm-5pm
Thursday April 9th - Clinic is open from 8am-5pm
Friday April 10th - Clinic is closed

Our regular hours will resume on Monday April 13th

DOMS or Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness. This is a phenomenon that occurs when a muscle is exposed to new stressors, usually when new exercise is introduced. It is caused by microscopic tears in your muscles that lead to slight inflammation as the muscle heals and builds new fibers. These are the type of muscle tearing that we need when building muscles to make them stronger and more effective. While can be painful is not necessarily a bad thing as it means the muscle is adapting to the new stresses we are placing on it (which is exactly what we want it to do 😁) Remember if you are sore after we first introduce you to exercises, its not always because of the injury being re-irritated. It could mean that the muscles are starting to become better and stronger.

The medical world is fill with jargon that can be difficult to understand. In physiotherapy we are very reliant on directional terminology so we can ensure that treatment is being done in the proper location and is able to be re-created accurately. If you hear us using some of these terms around the clinic, here is our little guide to help you understand some of the lingo: Anterior/Posterior= Front of body/Back of body, Superior/Inferior=Higher on body/Lower on body, Medial/Lateral= Towards middle of body/Away from middle of body, Proximal/Distal= Towards center/Towards extremities.

We wanted to thank Marianne for all she does at the clinic to help keep this place running smoothly. Between handling phone calls, scheduling, billings, and lots of paperwork (just to name just a few things she does) she is amazing at managing the a lot of the chaos that happens here.
