Chatham-Kent Hospice

Chatham-Kent Hospice Our mission is to provide care that changes how families live the important experiences near the end of life. Welcome

Welcome to Chatham-Kent Hospice!

At Chatham-Kent Hospice we are here to help families make the most of the time they have together. We are honoured to serve our residents and their families at the most difficult time in their life. We believe that hospice is not about dying – it is about living. Our focus is to help our residents live each day with dignity and honour by providing compassionate, end-of-life care in a home-like set

ting. Our residential hospice offers 10 private suites designed to perform like a hospital but feel like home. Additional spaces in the hospice include bereavement support area, resource library and meeting rooms. The overall design allows us the flexibility to grow and play a role in developing a centre of learning for healthcare providers and the families of Chatham-Kent. The Chatham-Kent Hospice will:
• support residents as they deal with end-of-life challenges
• offer a loving and supportive atmosphere so family and friends can say good-bye
• deliver specialized care from compassionate staff and volunteers
• provide comprehensive, coordinated hospice care for everyone at no cost
• make available grief counseling and other forms of therapy

Tracey, our Kitchen & Hospitality Coordinator, shares the incredible role our kitchen volunteers play in supporting both residents and families through meals, homemade soups, and the small daily acts of care that mean so much.

She also shares some of the challenges within the current space and how this renovation will create a more functional, and more accessible kitchen for the volunteers who are at the heart of this important work.

This project is about more than a renovation. It’s about creating a space that allows us to continue providing thoughtful, compassionate care every single day.

If you’d like to help make this new kitchen a reality, learn more or donate at CKHospiceKitchen.com.
